What is Electronic Warfare? - The Basics

. .
I couldn't comment on the thread below (senior's cafe), so I just decided ask you here. Also were you in this LRSD? Sorry for so many questions.

One day in life of an Airborne Soldiers

Fuxk man, you finally caught me on....Maybe I left too much of a bread crumb....Airborne, Ranger, then Intel, well, it kind of only leads to one place ain't it??

Indeed I was in charge of a Long Range Surveillance detachment(A platoon, not a team, a team led by a Staff Sergeant), I was in charge of a detachment for 6 months, then I got transfer out. And yes, you need to be Airborne and Ranger Qualified to lead a detachment.

and finally someone put 2 and 2 together and guess where I was when I was in the army...

For privacy reason, I am not going to tell you which detachment I was on or when, lol...

How could you chase a pretty respectable woman, shame on you! :D
Battles are not boring-they are your effort and experience. You must share that so some armchair privates realize that how difficult is it to wage a war!

At 0:33, is this a possible counter against IED's?

Depends on what kind of IED you are talking about.

I would be able to imagine you can defuse remote det IED (like using phones, IR remote control) because you can jam their frequency and isolate the device with the input command, but the problem is, most IED have either back up detonation sequence (like com-wire or pressure plate) or even advance Dynamic Wi-Fi sequence where the receiver can automatically change channel like in your router), if you have a device that have back up det sequence, chances are you are not going to jam it.

Judging by the subsequent stuff the news report, I would probably call BS on this.
