Support for the Mujahideen may have given birth to al Qaeda but Taliban is Pakistan's baby. Most of them are children of your madrassas. The difference between the U.S. and Pakistan is that the U.S. acknowledges publically that it made policy mistakes. Pakistan on the other hand, blames all its troubles on someone else. All this doesn't change the fact that Taliban were never in the White House and the part of your "musing" which states that haqqani was in the White House is a lie.

Oh by the way, Indians won't start a war with Pakistan. They are afraid they'll win and get stuck with the Pakistanis.

In the last decade or so, more Pakistanis have been killed in terrorist attacks than in all the insurgencies in India combined. You're bombing your own country. India isn't.

Illiteracy in Pakistan is a lot worse than India. Half the kids in pakistan don't go to school and the one's that do, might get shot in the head by a brave Pakistani.

You are one of a very select few that hasn't eradicated polio. Children are not vaccinated because of the laughable reasoning that the vaccine is a western conspiracy to destroy Pakistan.

Pakistan has the worst HDI in South Asia which is saying a lot since the entire region isn't exactly Shangri-La.

So before you sit in judgment of someone else's country perhaps you should ask yourself, is a Pakistani really in any position to be pointing out at someone else's shortcomings? Aren't you even a little bit embarrassed by the fact you're actually worse off than a place like India? I mean, how could a developed, sophiscated, brilliant and wealthy nation like Pakistan have a HDI worse than a poor, third world shythole like India? Good question, but that's really not part of the relevant U.N. Resolutions here. The PKK is being provided arms in Iraq as an expedient to save the lives of innocents. That's pretty high up the value tree, higher than the formal violation of UNSCR 1373 that the U.S. and others commit by supplying the PKK here: the alternative isn't Iraqi gov't control, but control by a terror group far more murderous and radical than the PKK. The PKK doesn't appear to be operating in Iraq with criminal intent - at least not at the moment. Just as it's not a violation of the law to hit someone in self--defense, it's a matter one should take to a court somewhere to make an appropriate judgment based on both the law and circumstances.

Furthermore, while post 9/11 international law legalizes other nations' attacks upon terror groups in uncontrolled territories of member-states it doesn't compel them to do so. So while Turkey has attacked the PKK rather than ISIS most NATO members disagree with this approach. Some sort of re-evaluation of NATO/Turkey/Kurd policy has long been in order but nobody wants to address this.

The point, my dear Suleiman, is that any rhetoric is only as good as the guns behind it. Whichever side has the power (military, economic, diplomatic) can declare its actions as legitimate and those of its opponents as terrorism.

I understand that your viewpoint is might-makes-right and words are merely tools to manipulate the weak, not a credo to stick to. Pretty sad. You understand why there's never been a prophet - or even a vision - sent to Muslims since Mohammed: it would be pointless because his communication would be distorted, either with false words or by changing his words meaning. My viewpoint is that "might is right" is, and has been, the way of the world since the beginning of time. It's not a question of what I like or approve, that's just the way the world works, including the current "defenders of freedom".

The term "legal" is just a fancy euphemism for "might is right". Every single law on the planet -- from parking zones to international treaties -- is only as good as the guns behind it.

If the Arabs had the necessary guns/money/brains, they could do the reverse of what the Zionist-influenced West has done. The Arabs could disband the UN, form a new international body to rubber stamp their diktat, declare whomever (e.g. Israel) a terrorist state and coerce the rest of the world to bomb their enemies into oblivion -- all the while thumping their chests as the righteous defenders of human rights.

Do you really think it would be hard to find extremist elements in any country, empower them to challenge the weakened law enforcement, and use their atrocities in PR campaigns as the face of the enemy? Are you one of these deluded souls who believes that Christians/Jews/whomever have "reformed" past religious hatred, and that people in developed countries are now beyond racial hatred? Anyone with serious exposure to sociology and law enforcement will tell you what a load of bull crap that is.

What holds developed societies together is not some surplus of innate tolerance, but respect for law enforcement and the belief that a stable, peaceful society will provide the best conditions for self-advancement compared to direct selfish actions. If that core set of beliefs loses widespread currency, any society will crumble into lawlessness and mayhem.

Any society can be manipulated to the brink of self-destruction. Any situation can be manipulated by those with the necessary tools and declare their actions as "legal".

All that matters at the end of the day is who has the biggest guns/wallet/megaphone.

New Delhi’s air is the most polluted in the world, according to an international report that quantifies pollution levels, confirming findings by experts confounded by the lack of attention to the city’s problem.

The findings by the World Health Organization, released on Wednesday, show that the cities ranking second through fourth are also in India, in the central Hindi belt.

For years, experts have wondered why so much international attention has focused on air pollution in Beijing when some say conditions are as bad or even worse in South Asia.

“I am shocked at the extent of the problem they found in India,” said Dr. Sundeep Salvi, the director of the Chest Research Foundation in Pune, India. “This is incredibly bad, and there is a complete lack of awareness about it both amongst policy makers and the common man.”
