Objectively speaking, this will create a tri-OS environment in the world, and it is good because competition will ensure better and cheaper products for end users. Android, IOS and Oak OS together means no monopoly for Google in non-iPhone segment.

A monopoly means the provider (i.e. Google) can charge users any price with fat profits, also can demand users to tick "Yes" on agreement to their private data collection in their "Terms and Condition" clauses and if you tick 'No" they will not sign you in. And we are not sure if there is no back door in Google (ask NSA).

Yes, we should have Oak OS, and let the end users to choose which they want. Don't worry about the apps, all current Android OS apps can run under Oak OS as well, as assured by Huawei in their statement.

I tell you the truth. Trump is a Trojan horse inside US. His mission is to whack US leadership on the pretend of protecting US dominance. All his actions is in fact killing US. Increase tariff on China product to make ordinary American Life miserable cos they need to pay more for their daily neccesity. Argue and screw some of their most trusted allies like France, UK.

Force many small Chinese companies to United and develop their own technology.

President Xi once say Trump is brilliant and roll out red carpet for him when he visited China. No other president received that honor and Trump say he admired Xi and claim he is a good friend.

But in my opinion OS is one of the major reasons for selecting a smart phone. Many users will simply ditch a particular brand over Android OS.

There is a Chinese proverb that says "One type of rice feeds hundreds of people (of different minds)". Why not do a survey to check if your statement is correct?

Apple users are generally loyal to their brands, until the high price tags and lack of recent renovations put them off.

Samsung users look towards the high tech hardware built into their phone, they will switch to other brands that have better hardware features.

Camera performance is an important factor why people choose certain brands.

And of course there are people who would choose software or OS over the brands, as in your good self.

That is why hongmeng OS is very similar to Android. Which require very little effort to program software for it as per android and the compatibilities is very high between 2. Programmer will effortlessly program for 2 OS.

When Android was launched, it was clunky, very clunky, compared to iOS. But price point made people shift and within 3 years it was up to par.

If Oak OS is as fast as Android then buyers will shift to it.

Shifting away from Google apps is not a big deal either.

If all chinese phone maker dump Android, then the market share of non chinese phone maker like Samsung, Asus etc in international market will explode.

The decisive point doesnt belong to the phone makers, but to the established social platform on existing Android.

International consumers can switch from Google Apps to Hongmeng Apps easily if the Huawei Apps is better.

But international consumer CAN'T switch easily from Whassap, Facebook to alternatives offered by Hongmeng, because switching means disconnection from their own social network. Will you buy smartphone with Hongmeng but then cannot communicate with your friends, relatives and colleages because of no WA, also no FB?

China has to have social application established in international market first competing with existing ones.

In VN, we normally use 2, 3 phones. 1 for using FB, whatssap, youtube, gmail etc, 1 (or 2) for playing games, watching movies, taking HD pics.

So, if Hwei phone is still play game,take good pics and watch movie well, then ppl will still buy it cos its cheaper than Samsung and Apple but high specification.

I myself use 3 phones and only nid 1 for FB, whatssap. And I change my phone every year.

I agree. It's depend on the social media that supported by Hongmeng or Android.
