What do Pakistani think of China?

Within certain % probability. There is always % that is overlap and some % can pass of as Southern Europeans, Southern Indians and everything inbetween. Also depends on if you get to see clues like language, style of clothing etc in which case you can hit 95% certitude.

But then this is applicable to rest of the world as well.

Most of the people can easily recognize pashtuns differentiating between Punjabis Sindhis and Balochs is harder though some Baloch look somewhat similar to pashtuns but majority looks like Punjabis

That seems to be a politician's view of China, not average Pakistanis, he visited China during the cultural revolution, it's not easy to find people who have the first hand experience to compare China back then and China nowl
Absolutely

I think of China as a great friend and both Pakistan and China helped each other in the past and would continue doing so in the future.
Absolutely

I would rather focus on my own experience than looking at other people's opinion. I have a strong relationship with Chinese people, and every human being has its flaws, it's not my duty to judge them. However, Chinese people are respectful. Muslim's aren't allowed to drink, and during my University day's my friends took this into consideration and stopped drinking it in front of me. In fact, they were so respectful they decided to only purchase halal meat and ban pork in the house. I never told them to do this, but they wanted their brother (me) to always feel comfortable. Henceforth, there can never be a distance between me and the Chinese people or at least my friends.
You've hit on something here. Chinese students abroad, certainly the ones I've befriended, project an excellent image of their culture. I was the only Muslim guest when I visited Chinese friends homes in UK and they always checked my dietary requirements beforehand and even ensured to point out to me that they didn't prepare pork dishes with the same utensils as or close to my dishes (a bonus which I did not ask or expect of them) - which is the kind of hospitality that blows you away. So I agree - from my limited experience, Chinese people in general are respectful of others and this appears to be a cultural trait.

My experiance with Commie-Athiests is same, most respect Muslims.

@beijingwalker The main differance between Indians and Pakistani's is we have greater Eurasian influence. The % of our population that can easily overlap with Iran, Turkey, Greece or Italy is far higher.

I just stumbled upon this video. I have no idea who he is, but his observations about China make a lot sense to me. For instance, he is sopt on how reactive and inept Chinese media is. What do our Pakistani members think of it? Share your thoughts with us;

I agree with his thoughts in this video about China.
China needs to invest a bit more on media.

Thank you, for telling us about your personal experience. I had the exact same experience both in my university life and working in China. Imagine you went to a party and the food on the table was hotpot serving 10 people. All of them are happy enough to change the ingredients just for you (Muslim) is quite touching. I know for a fact western people would have reacted differently.

Some of the behavior of Chinese people on this forum is very different from some of my friends. I also use to question things on Xinjiang, but instead of attacking Islam and being confrontational they would tell me gently how I was wrong. But they would also accept some of the policies of the CPC Govt must change in the future. They taught me so much about Chinese culture, history, and social customs.

Since I have lived in China, I know what the Chinese people think of Pakistan. They aren't familiar with Pakistani culture but they know this country is called iron brother and is respected by the CPC Govt. People in Chengdu, for example, have great respect for Pakistan because they remembered during the earthquake we sent them supplies. Every taxi driver who picked me up mentioned this fact and was thankful. I saw the devastation and it wasn't a pretty sight. My best friends cousin lost his legs. Before I left China I still remember what my best friend did for me. He took me to a Mosque and brought me a Chinese translated Quran. It was the greatest gift he could ever give to me, rather than giving me an expensive watch or belt. This is why I have positive views of China and they won't change.

NS doesn't look like an Indian lol...

Imran Khan looks like Italians?

Yes, anyone with a fair skin in Pakistan can be misplaced as a person from ME or Southern Europe. I personally have been called a Italian, Russian, Portuguese and Spanish and I'm not even that white lol.

On Topic:

I admire the Chinese and their hard working ethics. Only things I dislike is their disdain for outsiders (historical and maybe current) and other religions and their treatment of Uyghurs and their international friends (especially Africans).

I also dislike their policy of colonizing others through debt.

The ineffectiveness of the [Communist Party’s] social media strategy is evident in the trade war and Mushahid Hussain hint you guys this is the only area where china need to improve and explain Chinese narrative in front of Global Community. Last year, I met 15k people from 64 countries and become an ambassador of Pakistan and intelligently pick the topic in short conversation how china and Pakistan friendship model working and this model base is not about dominance of big country (China ) over the small country like Pakistan but helping us how to become strong against our arch-rival India and also short explanations the vision of Chinese economic globalization to helping countries via BRI projects. where ever Pakistani live and work, though we economically poor nation but we always help our iron brother socially and morally.
