What's new

What direction will Pakistan's foreign policy take after July 25?

Love 2 see Imran Khan as your PM...Indian media is predicting his win.....is it true???

.
Their foreign policy will be the same POLICY since 1947

India is a existential threat
India can not influence or have a say in Afghanistan that supersedes Pakistan
Kashmir has to be taken away from india
Pakistan must be treated with equal respect as india by USA and the west
Pakistan must use proxy war and nuclear blackmail to achieve status quo with india

Its a foreign policy that has served your Army & ISI well.

But has tarnished & battered your relations with the Western world leaving you as a minor power in South Asia by 2018

India will hope Pakistan continues down this same route

IE a state leaning towards religious Islamic attitude alienating itself from Europe & the West and siding with JUST china.

A Pakistan that has 200 million people and becomes a moderate western state like Turkey or Eygpt fully intergrated with the WEST led by a moderate friendly govt without military influence would invite too much investment and good will by the rich western nations

That harvest is being reaped by india at the ,moment and long may it continue

It's impossible to know. If we are to bank on Pakistan's track record, then everything you say stands true. However, if IK is elected it would mean an unprecedented digression from the norm. And in a world where almost every nation seems to be heading towards nationalism, this is a very real possibility.

Whether the military will still call the shots behind the scenes remains to be seen. They way I see it, an organisation so firmly entrenched within the Pakistani political structure will be difficult to uproot as no party which holds the power that the military does parts with it without putting up a fight.

You have no foreign policy unless India & Kashmir are in the sentence

USA ditched you FOR india …………….. even you know that

We are happy that India has become American bitch. And through this relationship we will extract concession from yanks against you, if America wants a relatively graceful exit from Afghanistan, it must play by our rules and start mopping up Indian terror infra on Afghan soil. Ofcourse this depends on if next government in Pakistan is nationalist.

So. You where America's bitch

That explains your current global status

foreign policy will become good only when economy become strong

Your economy is detached from foreign policy .

Your foreign relations are defined by your military General's and isi who also run your economy.

No matter who is elected if they step out of line the military take over

Simple

People cannot seriously be naive enough to think a friggin PM of Pakistan is going to dictate the foreign policy. That is well under the Army and that isn't changing. There's a reason why Foreign Dignitaries only talk to the COAS.

How is July 25th relevant ?

The more anyone in Pak has tried to change anything, the more it has remained the same.

So why should anything change at all ? Imran is the protege of ISI. Skeletons exist in his cupboard too , these shall be pulled out whenever he steps or attempts to step out of the rut he is expected to perform from within.

So how is 25th July relevant ?

To Afghanistan ghanta nahi dega...
Afghanistan don't have a problem with the unfenced borders...
Once we've repatriated their people back & the country is somewhat stable, I believe that the appetite for border control will be overpowering, in both countries.

Pointless thread

Pakistan is owned and run by generals which will never change

The very second a pm thinks about peace or normal relations with India USA and west he will be taken out
