we already have normal relations with USA and west and they are our Allies atleast on paper

No it not. If GHQ would had been backing IK, IK wouldnt be looking for Azaad candidates to form a government.Instead it would had been the other way round with simple majority just like when Bhutto was brought up by Yaha Khan and Nawaz by ZIA.
