What's new

What countries are Russia's best allies?

We'll discuss what to do about Ukraine over coffee and drinks at our next G2 meeting.

lmao, how come you haven't been able to have this coffee and biscuits up until now? Feeling any butthurt after US delegation was thrown out of negotiations? Must have been tough on that leveraged by QE (no pun intended lol) hubris of yours.

And that nexus of yours...umm, pretty crappy nexus you have if it makes your clueless president make an even bigger fool of himself than he normally is, by reneging on red line statements.

btw missed the update on quarterly results for eurozone in your very own eurozone doom and gloom thread. Or that goes only when there's absolutely nothing but bad news to post?

This is not about the records.A 12 ,I think SR 71 Blackbird was a recce and survill plane.
AFAIK it didnt have any weapons capability.
Mig 25 had formidable weapons capability and comparatively better speed of Mach 2.83.

lmao, this Indian guy! Everytime he speaks i laugh!

See here, sreekumar, MiG 25 could do 2.83 in recce configuration only, it could go faster too, but that would melt the engines. And as for your comment how whole world remembers how super epic the -25 was, whole world also rememberes the opinions after they took it apart following Belenko's defection.

If only you were so honest to present all sides of the story.....

To what event are you referring? It was Putin who left the G20 early. As far as I am aware, the G2 is not a functioning body of any import. You need to work on your understanding of sarcasm, I understand that it's not something German speakers have an easy time understanding. Use your Slavic side more.

I have imposed a moratorium on copying and pasting several news articles per day. You are welcome to post whatever updates you like, whether they are positive or negative.

I think what Russians are looking for is fidelity. They've had enough of back-stabbing allies that court everyone, buy weapons from everyone, are seen flirting with everyone, but are nowhere to be seen when their friends really need them. They hate that baniya mentality.

In 1968 the Russians saw China as their main ally. In 2003 Ukraine was high up on the list. Contiguous countries don't really "ally" with Russians as much as submit to them, or not.

Well check out the recent visits from Putin to China.

Basically, they are asking us for help and rebalancing after the Western sanctions on Russia. And we are giving it to them.

That doesn't sound like they want us to "submit"?

China's diplomatic relations are based on an equality between both sides. Anyone who negotiates with us on those terms will receive the same in return.

A-12 was designed to be a high altitude, high speed interceptor much like the MIG-25. It never entered service.

Main problem with the G-2 concept was that it implied concessions and subservience from China. Any Chinese leader who actually agreed to it risked appearing weak.

I guess that would be no less than treason. Because the G2 offer never supposed to be an 'among the equals" agreement, as you pointed out.

This is the problem at the core of China-US relations. No matter how much agreements the two sides may sign, there is no strategic depth to them (unlike the agreements China signs with Russia) because the US simply desires to embed China into its own vision for global governance. In a sense, the US is ready to accept China as an almost equal partner (much higher in position and important than the rest of the world, UK included) but on the condition that China attaches itself to the norms and rules imposed by the US. So long as China remains within the system, it can be US' best buddy. This is an inherently unequal relationship.

This is exactly what is special about China and Russia. These two countries, no matter how they failed (or decide to not move on) to form a hard military alliance as a unified bloc against the West, their alliance is broader and more sustainable because they agree on the very fundamental of how the global governance should look like. On the ideational level, there is more agreement between China and Russia then ever could between China and US. In this respect, China and Russia alliance is very much on par with the Atlantic System.

That's what happens when you have Pakistan as friend!! And then if we call you by what you are called world over, we will be racist!!

But does your SR 71 have weapons capability?
First give a convincing answer to that then talk about your so called delusions. If your US didnt care about that system why should they influence that Soviet pilot for landing Mig 25 in Japan and gave an asylum for him in US?
Why did the Japan returned those Mig 25 as a knock down spares to Soviets?

The West was actually underwhelmed with the Mig-25 after Belenko's defection.

At first the general consensus in the West was that the Mig-25 was a well-rounded fighter in the vein of F-15 (which was designed to combat Mig-25).

After taking the plane apart (and questioning Belenko), they realized that it was a pure interceptor with limited range that sacrificed considerable performances to achieve speed.

Not to say that the Mig-25 wasn't an impressive aircraft (it was). But the fighter gap that supposedly existed between the West and the Soviets was greatly exaggerated. By the early 1980s NATO enjoyed overwhelming technological advantage over the Soviet Air Force.

Seems like there is no hope Sino-Russian friendship then

I'm refering to the negotiations about the future of Ukraine, in your words and i paraphrase "talking it over coffee and biscuits", from which USA was excluded.

Try harder with stereotypes, preferably when you at least know what i'm talking about.
