What's new

What Bangladeshi youth still thinks about

1) Thanks GOD Pakistani government was not handed over to that Traitor ..Had it been the case he would had made us the satellite /colony of India..Same he did with Bangladesh..Agratala was proven and accepted by Mujib own cronies

2) Altaf Hussain will win the next election..Shall we hand over the karachi to him again ? By your logic yes since people choose him and if not people of karachi should call for independence and that will be legimitate ?

3) In 1966 there was no Yaha (although he was not innocent) ..What prompted Banglabudu to initiate six points ? Will you allow if Karachi, Sindh , Balochistan or any other province ask for :
a) Separate accounts for the foreign exchange earnings
b) East Pakistan or now Balochistan or KARACHI should have a separate military or paramilitary force??
c) Seprate currency for Karachi or Balochistan ?

Please tell me what else is the definition of separate country ?

Note:I didn't say all bengalis were traitor..So don't say this...

By the way all involved ( irrespective of boundaries) in that matter served justice by the nature or ...The last remaining stooge of this dynasty is what left now.....

1) What is a traitor? How do we define one. It is controversial whether Mujib was a traitor. Even if he was the situation needed to be handled with tact and extreme care. How we responded was like a bull rushing into a dinner party, seeing red blood everywhere. I don't understand how an entire ethnic group can be labelled a traitor.

Lets say Agartala proved that Mujib was a traitor, (Agartala is often labelled an attempt by ZAB to weaken Mujib), why did we have to send our army and use force when it was not required. It was as if we were throwing Bengal like a basketball to India and saying catch. Also there were legal ways to combat Mujib. If an entire ethnic group or east Pakistan in this case voted for him there was some fault among us.

Also how can you predict the future? How are you so sure the army, the people and the entire nation among them MM Alam, Nurul Amin and others would not resist an attempt to make Pakistan a colony of India. Again you are typing on the basis that all Bengalis were traitors, and this is a mistake in my view. Also even today when everything related to east Pakistan is lost for Pakistan Bengalis continue to express anti Indian sentiment.

We had control of the media, publications and other channels of news and this anti indian sentiment would be much higher before 71. So please lets not assume things about the Bengalis. There is no real difference in culture. I have eaten their rice and dal with fish and it is the best thing as well as a very similar thing to what we have in Karachi.

2) Though I hate Altaf I know the thinking of my relatives. They will keep supporting Altaf. The solution is to somehow tactfully see the problems MQM/Altaf have created. Even if this is not successful we cannot force them to accept a government they did not vote for. It will only give legitimacy to traitors like Syed Jamaluddin. These situations need to be handled very tactfully, otherwise an entire population can be alienated.

3) Desperation caused them to ask for 6 points which in my views are very valid. Let me explain before calling me a traitor. In 1940 and before we Pakistanis and even Jinnah were ready to stay in India if they granted us a number of things. Did we not ask for 14 points from India? Was it not better for India if they had accepted them and avoided the break up of the country? Similarly this applies to Bengal. Accepting those points was better than losing half our population. Autonomy is not a mistake, it is empowering a people.

a) No problem. Did you see the table for spending in East Pakistan and West and how pathetically it was skewed in favor of us west Pakistanis. Its easy to stick with the state narrative when you are on the bennefitting side as we west Pakistanis were.
b) If you look closely at these points you will notice there was no demand for separate military. The real demand was equal representation in the military of all ethnic groups. Bengalis did not even make up 10% of our army with half our population. If this wasn't a bias what was?
c) This was also not a clear demand. Mujib may have said it but it was impractical. It could possibly be challenged through the courts. But no need to get bogged down. Giving some rights is better than losing half the nation.

Conclusion: The six points btw were not set in stone. Even Mujib admitted he was willing to negotiate on them. Instead we threw him in jail on flimsy evidence. Still Mukti Bahini won. Very shameful for us. With an enemy the like of India we could not afford to sow divisions within ourselves. We did exactly that. It was like giving India Bengal in a plate.

Okay. So us Pakistanis are racists. But the bengalis have now got their own homeland. So there is no problem. The biggest mistake was making them a part of Pakistan in the 1st place.

I am not saying all Pakistanis are racist. I say some of the leaders and some common Pakistanis are.

As for this, how then do the British or French rule islands far away with an ethnic makeup far different from their own. This excuse that Bengalis are different from us is just that, an excuse to cover up our massive mistake. We have more in common with Bengalis than British have with Gibraltar, or the French with martinique or Reunion. The key to ruling territories far away is giving equal rights. None of these territories has anti British/French sentiment. Had we given Bengali a right as a regional language or treated the people fairly there would no problem at all. But since the death of Jinnah the problem was brushed under the carpet.

Also note even when we were under the British there was a type of acceptance of British rule. Had they not treated foreign lands as colonies rather than equal states and not made mistakes the type of which we made in Bangladesh they would still be ruling over us. Even the British army consisted mostly of foot soldiers from our own religion. Muslims made around 30% of their army. The elite wanted, above everything else to be granted British passports and learn English. The British failed only because they treated their territories is conquered colonies rather than give them respect. In the Pak Bengal aspect there are similar problems. When Dhaka fell our poverty fell because Bengal was divided. So it wasn't just about not accepting their government. We also made the mistake of imposing Urdu and not investing equally in the economic development of Bengal. Also there was a very poor response to the floods. We in short made the same mistakes India is making in Kashmir and British made during their rule of half the world.

Also please, it was Jinnahs decision to make Bengal a part of Pakistan. It was fitting as Bengal and Pakistan united wasthe largest muslim state in the world by population. Challenging the fact that Bengal was in a united Pakistan is like challenging Jinnahs decision. Lets not call Jinnah's decision to make Bengal a part of Pakistan a mistake.

We threw away what we had with our own hands. We have to acknowledge this to build anew.

The French and British can rule these small islands because they are made up of people who were till very recently cave dwelling, jungle loving barbaric savages who do not have a culture or history. These types are very easy to rule. Even a policeman from Sialkot could rule over them very easily. Bengalis had a long history and highly developed culture which meant that one way or another they would have needed a seperate homeland for themselves.

1) Lets say Agartala proved that Mujib was a traitor, (Agartala is often labelled an attempt by ZAB to weaken Mujib)..It is controversial whether Mujib was a traitor. It was the fact established later on..Mujib friend at the floor of Assembly accepted this..So no it was not controversial...Engaging with enemy agency and raising a group of arm rebellion against state if not come under the definition of Traitor then AH is also a saint..There wouldn't have been more problems had AH being killed earlier or

2) Also how can you predict the future? How are you so sure the army, the people and the entire nation among them MM Alam, Nurul Amin and others would not resist an attempt to make Pakistan a colony of India. Again you are typing on the basis that all Bengalis were traitors, and this is a mistake in my view. No , dear i am not implying this on whole group.I never said this once in my post..Regarding being an Indian colony, current state bangladesh in having Shiekh haseena (may he continue to rule ) is nothing more to say..No MM alam and Nurul Amin ever emerge in state now called Bangladesh after 1971..They both love and choose to stay with Pakistan.

3) Strange analogy Jinnah demanded of 14 points and Mujib.. Why didn't mujib demanded that earlier ? Was it not better for India if they had accepted them and avoided the break up of the country?...May be better for India but not for Pakistanis ..We would have been continuously in a mode that Indian muslims are facing now...

4) Army is not quota type government organization..It is a professional institution run on merit ..You can't simply claim i am 20 % so give me 20 % in nominations in army..No where in the modern world this logic applies..

5) Now you are saying impracticable and Mujib didn't mean like this..All his 6 points were written without any ambiguity and he means it..Had we accepted that ..We will have now 4 more countries in Pakistan..

6) The root cause of MQM issue, "We are deprived , we are the victims, whole Pakistanis are against us.These Punjabi, Pakhtuns will capture our city. we are being discriminated bla bla" Same delusion was at that time.I am yet to find a single person from Karachi who can logically claim and debate this as to how he is being discriminated. They just fell to propaganda..

Conclusion: I am not saying there was no mistake from other sides. What i am saying is holding weapon and declaring independence is not the ring thing to do..Infact Mujib himself was racist...Like AH is

As a Bangladesh born Muslim American I have to advise all of us fellow muslims to get past this Bangladesh Pakistan stuff. It is the very fact that we disregard the teachings of our Prophet p.b.u.h that Muslims as a whole are in this mess. Muslim unity must be strived for and other distinctions must be secondary. I don't love you because your Pakistani. I love you because you are Muslim. Please understand that the Muslim world is in serious danger under this Trump administration. It makes no difference if you are Bangladeshi Pakistani Arab or whatever. If you identify as a Muslim you will be a target. please educate yourselves about what is on the horizon.
I agree but you should start preaching from Haseena Wajid first

She hates Pakistan so much that she is still hanging those who fought in 1971 after 45 years, she hates us so much that she is ready to make BD a part of India and whole BD masses stand behind her, How and why can i trust that BDs love pakistan ?

We lost territory.
They lost sovereignty.
Territories could be taken back, cities rebuilt, even sovereignty could be faught back but we cannot take back our humanity and the honor of our Great Country.

We never took up arms before March 25. Operation Searchlight was planned from beginning of March to eliminate Awami League machinery. Some EPR officers leaked the plan a day before the Operation. Awami supporters from villages were picked up and made to disappear. Their bodies were found in ponds and graveyards. Young boys were killed to reduce Bengali population.

In Dhaka city many Awami leaders had taken refuge in Dhaka University. Pak Army killed almost everyone there to ensure no awami was left. Bengali police were neutralized for not cooperating with the military operation. Some of these police officers along with EPR personnel formed Mukti Bahini to resist Pak Army onslaught. It was ten months of horror in our country. I don't expect West Pakistanis to understand this who were sitting comfortably in homes labelling us traitors and encouraging our killing.

You have no explanation for economic exploitation we were subjected to in favour of West Pakistan. Truth is kala bhaiyya Muslims have no place in pink nose Pakistan. Remove us from Bangladesh and Pak Army would have fought till last man tooth and nail to keep it and use its resources. Just today a Pakistan poster shared a video showing kala Bangalis and that he couldn't believe how we were called Pakistanis for 24 years. We wanted to live with respect away from racism so we separated.

About the acronym written by you,. First of all it is not Kashmir but Jammu and Kashmir, What about the erstwhile princely states of Khairpur, Bahawalpur, Dir, Swat, Chitral, Amb, Hunza and Nagar. The above mentioned princely states were not fully and formally part of British India,

Not written by me mate, here is the official link from University of Columbia archives showing the original journal "Now or Never" by Chaudry Rehmat Ali in 1933. It states the regions for Pakistan.
http://www.columbia.edu/itc/mealac/pritchett/00islamlinks/txt_rahmatali_1933.html

The states you mentioned were part of the provinces mentioned. Bahawalpur state was part of the Punjab states agency. Let me remind you Mulsim League never asked for division of Punjab it was Congress leadership who asked for it, Sikh leaders like Master Tara Singh supported them. I am talking about the 1933-early 40's period.

I'm not angry but the bengalis keep playing a broken record. They're always coming on PDF and crying about 1971. If they don't like it here they can always shift themselves to their own forums. They seem to be overly concerned with the numbers 7 & 1. One think NO ONE else in the world can compete with bangladeshi people with is constant whinging and complaining. It's one of the traits of them. They complain about EVERYTHING & NOTHING.

Honestly, i dont know what most Bangladeshis feel in regards to relations with India or Pakistan. I have not seen any reliable polls or other measures of objective data. However, i will repeat that future relations should be built on a mutual practice of Islam and Islamic principles of brotherhood. Not the lip service muslim brotherhood stuff that is present in present world relations but a real sincere following of the principle.

Of course i disagree with Haseena and her leanings towards India. But similarly this brotherhood was not practiced from the West Pakistani side 40 yrs ago.

In the present day we see this BS happening again this time in the middle east with this BS Saudi Iranian conflict. The real winner in this is the West and Israel who are enjoying everything that is happening while we argue about frivilous topics.

Let me be clear, what happened to Bengalis in 1971 was an injustice by the West Pakistan government. That being said, we must move past it and work intelligently to face the future. I realize this is easy for me to say because i was not even born during the events of 71. However, i have heard first hand from my relatives what was going on. They have no reason to lie to me. And i can say it was very unfortunate. However, we have to move past this because quite frankly the dangers facing muslims in todays world require it.

If the muslim world does not get its act togther, we are in tremendous trouble. There are ugly forces gathering in the West that doesnt care if we are bengali pakistan arab whatever. Please educate yourselves about what is goin on in the world and try to see it in the global context rather than the conventional miopic south asian way.

Dismemberment of Pakistan was an Indian sponsored conspiracy with 3 main characters Bhutto, Indira Gandhi, Sheikh Mujeeb. Yahya Khan's incompetency also accentuated the situation. People of Weas as well as East Pakistan became stooges in the hands of corrupt politicians, thus the tragedy of biggest Muslim country came into being. If we had patriotic leaders on both sides may be today Pakistan would have been much ahead.

as long as you think that Bangladesh would have been part for Pakistan if not for just India's meddling. :)

As for your prophecy that Bangladesh and India will have a fallout like 1971, well I don't think we all just have to take your word for it now do we?

So u r saying india did absolutely nothing to break bangladesh from Pakistan???

Bangladesh will have fallout with india its not a prophecy its common observation the way u use bangladesh like a doormate by controlling the country's govt and its foreign policy through the use of ur puppet haseena wajid what will happen when she will retire or one of the guy from Jamat-e-Islami becomes head of the state?

Very unfortunate and very ignorant racist attitude. Extremely disrespectful to the thousands of Pakistanis world wide who have married their spouse who hail from Bangladeh or India.

bhai bad den or sahe kotha bola...he lives in his own world with his own concepts of realities and ethics.

Well truth is a bitter pill to swallow sometimes.

For an islamic nation it might not be easy to take that your eastern neighbour who you try to portray as enemy of muslims has better relations with Iran, Afghanistan and Bangladesh, despite Pakistan being the islamic nation.

So sure, keep wishing that one day this will happen, one day that will happen while reality is farther from your fantasy story.
