What Are You Listening to Right Now - Round 2

Saw your tag just now.

Beautiful scene. I would have liked to watch it and listen to it in the cinema.

And you are right about the film itself from what I have read and watched bits of it.
It actually is a good depiction of what would happen if hyper consumerism goes unchecked and also makes some bold prediction about assisted living and AI

We are living in the era if hyper consumerism. There is an idiotic ad from about a month ago of the new iPhone 13. The ad portrays a delivery boy using the iPhone in his line of work. @-=virus=- declared his utter joy for the ad without seeing that in India this phone starts at 69,000 rupees which is out of range for almost all delivery boys. In the Indian quiz show Kaun Banega Crorepati there was a food delivery boy who was preparing for exams for the civil services and he and his parents lived in an under-construction building because they don't have money to live in a proper house. A promo for an Indian dance program had one contestant who was a food delivery boy but whose own food came from a langar ( privately-run community kitchen ) because he doesn't have much money. These are the people that Apple is seeing as buyers for their unnecessarily costly phones ? Ridiculous ! This is irrational and hyper consumerism propaganda.

1967 video.. participants ar 20 years old. The film is enhanced by AI

This is a wonderful archive but for other reasons for me.

The female medical student spoke of less seats in colleges where a non-meritorious student can obtain a seat for a bribe. Well, at present the so-called education system has regressed in every sense, producing dolts who get into "prestigious" institutions like Lovely Professional College, BITS Pilani, the IIITs and the totally useless Indian Institutes of Management, based solely on "good" marks in preceding academic years. "Good" marks that come from mechanically retaining data and not having processed it towards thinking and research. There is also no inclusion of the humanities in the engineering and similar courses. And this all has led to a situation where the students come out of "education" institutes to just, like that IAS-aspiring chap in the documentary said, become a cog in the wheel. A non-contributor to the local society and to humanity. And of course one making wrong political and socio-economic choices. And there is the sudden tragedy of student suicides whether family-imposed ( student not wanting to do a course but the family imposing that course on that student ) or the student not able to gain scholarship to a "prestigious" institute because of less seats because of not many such institutes. My thread from last year :

Another youth spoke of seeing the ridiculous sight of people hanging out of the suburban trains in Bombay and other places. It still happens. Another youth spoke of him not able to stand in food ration lines because he has to be in the line for the bus. Today too there is insufficient food for so many and the public transport infrastructure is unscientific and irrational. Yes there now are 300 million mostly personal cars and perhaps 800 million two-wheelers but these have only served to create an even bigger transport problem.

Another youth spoke of the population problem. He would have laughed to see the current population of 1.4 billion !

The youth with the guitar said something like why should he aspire something for the country. Well, today he would have received death threats for that from the religio-ultra-nationalist mobs that go by the name of Indian citizens who themselves are the biggest problem that India faces. Send these mobs to Siberia and Antarctica and people like me can turn this country into a harmonious and advanced one within a year.

One thing I liked in the documentary is the proper English accent.

fuckin' hell

where did you find this one, LOL

:rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl:

I heard on TV that this mellifluous lady has generated a new output so I googled and got this.

He might be alive, or at least saw the pop in 2000s

Yeah, I think those youth belonged to upper class family or at least theschool standard was high back then.

The most disheart one the girl who thinks she can't become an actress. Probably bcz she is not beautiful (she is btw). Now, at least good acting skills land you in film career. 05:19
The most realistic boy was who was saying that we are just chest thumping and feeling good by comapring it with British rule. 06:10 guy said somewhere.
