What's new

What are you guys studying these days?

lol, salman bhai, i appeared for the test of IBA and its very very simple, if u give tym, a lil tym for two-3 months, u assure ur self getting admitted in IBA, IBA is in KU campus, zabist is another great opotion, why didnt u try there???, and i thing UK is best option after U.S, i heard from my a-level friends saying tht the one who doesnt get admitted to any of the US or UK uni, then he tries for australia!!!, eng from US or UK(if u can afford) is the best option u get in the entire world esp the top ranking uni, manchester comes in top 50s!!!

KU has a good name and the reason why I didn’t try for IBA was that the duration for the evening program there was 3 ½ years and szabist was far away from my home so I thought KU is a good option.

may be he wants to choose one of them, its better to give the entrance test these to mourn the decision, i think thts wht he has in his mind!!!

I have gone through this, that is why I am telling guys you need to have a clear understanding about where you want to go. Like he is doing B.E. in telecom if he wants to enter in telecom sales then he can do MBA in telecom management. If he wants to specialize in telecom network designing then also this can help. But if he thinks that he needs more specialization in electronics field like micro electronics then he can appear for GATE and do m. tech in this field. It takes lot of energy to prepare for these exams. Why to divide it rather then just concentrate on one.

My suggestion only.

Me too, I just brushed a little bit of development in .net and php and went onto interfacing with the Business for the IT. These days I'm already doing an IT Project management role, so a PMP would be a solid credential here.

A PMP is a good track to jump off at the mid-career level into management areas.

Other things I have planned up after PMP would probably be ITIL V3 Foundation/ITSM, Cobit and of course complete my Masters in IT which I've left half way in between. University requires too much time.

You know I feel like I already know a lot more than what is covered in a Masters degree. But its the prestige factor, which has me mainly motivated.

Seems we share the same thoughts and similar skills...I have been working in ITSM Service Delivery industry with ITIL V2 Foundation certification since last 3 years. It was a tough call for me to either select PMP (Aberdeen Business School) or go for ITIL V3 as in MSc ITSM.

So while you are going for PMP and then ITIL V3...i am taking the opposite route. Just got enrolled for Full time MSc ITSM (Certified by itSMF, UK. and ISM) and landed in northampton last sunday. Asim...This course is probably the only recognized Full time Masters Course (ITIL Manager Certification) available with PMP bits added to it. So I left my job to come back to Uni from India..

I am hoping to go for PMP certifications (though I have done Successful Transition Projects already with PM100 under my belt) while at work after this course or join Aberdeen for Full time. though getting PMP certifications while working seems a good option as of now...As my last organization used to arrange for PMP certifications starting from PM100, PM200 and so on....at short durations.

CAT and GATE both? seriously man, this is too much. best of luck from my side. But I am confused what exactly you want to do with this. I mean you want to go in technical line or direct to management. I humbly suggest you go ahead with GATE if you want masters degree. MBA can be done latter in the form of executive programs run by various colleges (IIMs also) or from correspondence.

I am more serious about gate, cat is for my lucky side:enjoy:

That's ok then. Otherwise things get really difficult. If you are interested in software field. you can give IIIT exams also (PGDIT). That can give you a good platform.
