What's new

What a comeback! Eleven months after the tsunami ravaged Japan

Respect. Even if it's cleaning up debris, great job.

If it was here on the subcontinent, people would've added on and the state would've forgotten it has to clean up. Perspective is important.

why compare to the subcontinent, compare to places that are comparable with Japan. In China, it took the equal amount of time to not only clean up debris but get started on new buildings, and it was in a mountain area rather than a coast, which makes shipping in large equipment far harder.

Oh ok so that was done by the Tsunami....

In India that itself is done by the government sometimes on the name of laying down telephone lines and sometimes on the name of devlopment of other side of roads. :D

None can beat Japanese spirit.. Be it worst of the worst, they have faced it all and still fought hard to take the country name to sky high.. Respect to Japanese folks!!

and advise to few folks - quit showing your insecurities.. Open a new thread to brag about yourself..

its also the people of pakistan who are to blame...
remember the kashmir and northern areas earthquake?
Balakot was destroyed...
Government offered to build a new city in a nearby clear land as picking up the debris and then building the city in the same place had costed a lot of mkney and time.
but people refused...
japanese peoe may be mlre comllying and cooperating with the govt.

Every Japanese when they go to Park to watch a game , when they are done , they pick up every little piece of garbage , and they wipe clean the table they used ... and then they leave

In India or Pakistan , the families would go , plastic - garbage and rotten food will be left over the picnic tables and just for good measures all the pan - chaos will follow the food

Japanese are just a evolved species and the reason for their success is their AWARENESS of their existence in nature and world

Europeans have achieved that awareness to some extent , and similarly Japanese have as well

I think South Asian lack that trait in general , how ever in India I do see some change as their social sector they got some very good enlightened souls in Pakistan the ratio is very low

Japanese - have a sense of colletive spirit , and the individual is tied in to the concept of being together with others ...

In South Asia - every thing is SELF CENTERED which is why South Asian cities look like Garbage pile as they do not think its their job to clean own premises other then just casual watering down of garden

Never understood what these japanese people are made of...every now and then they prove themselves against all the odds instead of whining about their misfortunes.

the debris was in coastal areas...easier to clean...

but yes they have a strong sentiment of duty towatds their land their country...
something that is missing in our part of the world.

.
they had many misfortunes but instead of whining and begging about it in front of the globe(Pakistanis) they work hard and quietly. If u go to kashmir and balakot u can still see the debris from the 2005 Earthquake.

hmm, having a lightly populated coastal area stuck by a tsunami is "all the odds".

clearing debris from flat sraside terrain and from 2000 km away from sea up in the mountains are totally different things and cant be compared.

You want to benchmark everything against , say for example , Tangshan ' 76 ?

This thread is about the positives that come out of a natural calamity , not about a competition as to who can clean up faster .. grow up !

In Japan ,

The CODE of honor is so strong that people resign from Jobs if they find they made a big mistake , with out anyone even asking for resignation

Be it politician or a small teacher or a driver , or even a Yakuza

The CODE - and awareness of one's self in collective runs within their conscious

In South Asia the attitude is , if the electrical poll fell down , let the government fix it , if there is wall , put graffiti on it
If their is garbage by the home , let the "CLEANER" come else it will stay their piling up flies and insects , until a cleaner comes and touches the dirty stuff. Or I am a Zameen Dar , how can I sit with Kisan

I mean our Beloved or not so , Prime Minister does not pays a cent in Taxes but does he shows signs of shame or regret NO .. its his right , our political parties openly say "They have right to corruption on TV shows because its their turn"

Then you look at Japan , the Economy index , goes 2 points down , and the whole cabinet , resigns in shame and apologetic manner to whole nation

Not only that - they will also BOW down on hands and knees before whole nation on TV and in pictures in press release

Compare them to our Beggar leaders - besharam

One of the top thing we should learn from Japanese is , how to Take a Samurai Sword and get rid of Bad Genetically pool in our politics

Just must be a genetically difference
