West vs East Pakistan - Separation debate on economical stand

I am not saying you guys took great advantage from it. JUT industries were on decline in 50s and in 60s they almost ended.
If you don't mind me saying this
Where did you got this 'gem' of info about Jute industry was declining in 1950s and 1960s? With the start of Korean war in 1950, demand for jute goods increased worldwide. 1950s and 1960s was the golden period for Jute industry. It was providing Pakistan of 60 percent export earning. Jute only went into decline after 1975 with the advent of synthetic fivers.

Sir G poster Mage gave data which show 30% of total spent on East Part ……. And sir G east part was 1 province …. I can agree there population was bigger in number , but sir west was poorer and have 4 full Provinces and 3 other areas (AJK , GB and FATA).
And I hated East defence from West logic from bottom of my heart ………..
You can create 100 province within your West Pakistan, nobody care. People care about how govt. spent on each provincial citizen on per capita basis.

Hahahahha tell me the share of textile industry in East Pakistan compared to West Pakistan.
Acha leave it just tell me the no. of universities and colleges, hospitals, dams, created by Mujib ur Rehman, Zia ur Rehman or their female successors. Ayub Khan to counter AL not only did'nt block proposed projects of Suhrwardy but did stupid spending in East Pakistan from 1959 to 1969. Bangladesh only changed its names instead of building more.
What Pakistani military regime built which Bangladesh namak h*r**m still are benefiting from.

Not one single college or institution developed in whoile districts there where muslims live. Ayub Khan developed these institutes inside and mostly outside Dhaka in their every division. Do not kid yourself.

Check FAO data. Bangladesh with tiny land still produces more agricultural commodities than Pakistan.

Bangladesh is the 4th largest rice producer.
I think, @MUSTAKSHAF is correct in saying of the developed agriculture in greater Punjab which began after the end of Sepoy Mutiny in 1857. The British Indian govt took special care to build canals and irrigation projects throughout the big Province. As a result, west Pakistan was already self-sufficient in the production of agriculture goods many decades before the 1947 partition.

On the other hand, Bangladesh is only recently producing a modest amount of food. It was different before 1971 mostly because of flood and drought. It was the time of Ayub Khan in the mid-60s when IRRI rice projects were undertaken in the east and an irrigation system was introduced to produce rice in winter. We are getting the results only after so many decades.

@UKBengali, where are you? Why so many things were built in 23 years during Pakistan time? Much more than built in the last 46 years. Can it be possible? However, this @rak_987 guy forgot to say that the following projects were also built before 1971:
- Fenchuganj Fertilizer Factory,
- Ghorasal Fertilizer Factory,
- TSP Factory in Patenga,
- Eastern Cables in Patenga,
- First Cement plant in Patenga
- Chittagong Dry Dock
- Chittagong Marine Academy
- all the Zilla roads (highways), etc.
Please do not shy away from the truth and send your valuable advice on how BD can build similar things. You should ask Hasina to double the highway width throughout the country. These remain the same width as before 1971. But, no foreign loan, please!!

One question ( slightly off topic, sorry for that ), isn't the land of Bangladesh more productive than any other land of this region? Not sure but some say that our land is one of the most productive in this world. So why we are recently producing modest amount of food? Is it only for mismanagement, or our land is not that extreme fertile that we used to believe ? Not talking about flood and drought though as there is no reason for crops to survive in the situation!
And is the land of both punjab more productive than Bengal region?
@bluesky

You are wrong about jute. Please read up on it.
Sir g , Please read Page 71 to 74(of the chapter not pdf file) In link given (I am not able to copy past)…….. A great read overall.

I am sorry for bad copy quality . Here you can read about my claim(Majority JUT industries feel in India , East Pakistan got Main cultivation Area)
upload_2018-12-19_21-10-2.png

Edit: @Atlas , Dear sir , JUT was only propaganda , As you can see majority of industries went to India and Pakistan started Building JUT industry in East Province in 50(look at mine and @BHarwana Thread) it might took 5 to 10 years to reach its peak (In east Pakistan) ,,, After looking at mass industrial build up of JUT in East and economical benefits it brings East Pakistani got wrong impression(globally JUT wasn't doing good), This doesn't mean JUT did nothing , but my point is local Nationalist overhyped it. ……They( Bangla Nationalist )used JUT against Pakistan …….

If you are considering agriculture the most productive land in the region is the land of both Punjabs.

Okay thanks for the information! I thought that lands of large river basins are the most productive because of large amount of silt soil . However I had no clear idea though what make lands more productive other than silt of river basin!

Right, if we can move forward , Pakistan and Bangladesh can be best friendly nations. And compromise is a type of art, but it looks that peoples from both countries have no mood of compromise!
That's sad indeed!

Exactly. What happened had happened, so there is no point of vicious arguments.
One thing really surprise when mature folks quarrel like kids for silly reason . If something happened 50 years ago still why such bickering? All are act of immaturity! That's the reason south Asians, specially south Asian Muslims are far behind than other nations.
And also some fifth columnist type posters always be beneficial for such childish arguments. They just divide and rule people's mind!
