What's new

Well done PDF! Now let's get to the other level

All countries have migrants. However the majority define a people and not 5%. India has Parsee and Christians who certainly are not dharmics but they are part of the Indian galaxy. Russia has Chechen Muslim, Muslim Tatars. Poland has Muslim Tatars.
Your country also needs the same dose of 'unity in diversity' as it also consists of diverse ethnicities and languages.

More than 10 years ago as I remembered PDF used to have members who are domain experts in their own field and debating or defending an argument against them whether it was political or defense related was “a self learning” experience but as time passed by some of those members left the forum … I remember there was a member with his/her DP as Penguin very knowledgeable fellow indeed … but now most of the time nowadays time spent on countering Indian propaganda or critic on western double standards towards Pakistan … I am not discounting the fact that there are still quite a few members who post really nice defense related technical materials but that all pushed under usual political threads … but things will get better Insha Allah

The only bad thing about those days was that there was horrendously severe anti-Pakistani racism and Islamaphobia on PDF and little was done about it. But yes, it would be great if we could have that semblance of intelligentsia back where we could study/discuss the most advanced weapons systems development in the world and how Pakistan could gain the capability itself to develop advanced weapons systems.

Without Indian posters, PDF will become a curry, without any "garam masaala" etc. etc. etc.

If you draw the native ethnic groups in Pakistan on a scatter diagram you will find in case of Pakistan most of the ethnic groups will cluster far more then if you draw a Indian scatter diagram. The reason is very simple. Pakistan geography is almost all within one geography - the Indus River Valley. All the ethnic groups have history going back 1,000s of years in this compact region. Thus melding this diversity should have been easier under one brand name then what Bharat faced in 1947. However Bharat did better job. In Pakistan they lost the way in the forest where nation state begins and religion starts.

This malaise is at the root of Pakistan's problems. This can be seen in what is about to emerge. We will probably in day or two have Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan next door. If Pakistan is about Islam ONLY then question arises why is there gonna be a Durand Line between IAE and IRP? Both are Islamic. Both are Muslim. So why the border for? From Islamic POV it makes no sense.

Yes, using Islam can be used to justify the Radcliffe Line but that reasoning falls apart on the Durand Line.

I agree that Pakistan is less diverse than India, but diverse nonetheless.
If you try to coalesce around any majority, you invariably leave out a discontented minority.
For example, if you try to unify around Urdu, then there may be many non-Urdu speakers who will be displeased.
Unify around Islam, then you are leaving out minorities. And so on.

India with its bigger diversity succeeded in 'unity in diversity', so I fail to understand why Pakistan does not emulate the same example.

and which group would you say defines, or comes closest to defining the average Pakistani from the 95% majority ?

Punjabi, Pushtoon, Baloch, Sindhi, Pahadi, Balti ?
Ideally definition should be drawn according to the statistical profile although in many countries this can be warped by socio-political, economic or historical reasons. For instance South Africa prior to 1990s was defined by a tiny 5% minority Whites.

Hoewever it would be fair to say Punjabi's get the biggest swab of paint to draw the Pakistani tapestry. This simply reflects that they are 55% majority. The name PAKSTAN is a acronym with -

  • P from Punjab
  • A- from Afghania
  • K - from Kashmir
  • S - from Sindh
  • Tan - suffix from BalochisTAN.

The simple reason is this. The glue below [Islam] spread over 40 countries and four continents -

They tried to brand as private property of this one geography below -

A impossible task bound to fail and create more problems then unity.

Interesting to see how things pan out as far as Afghanistan is concerned. Hope it doesn't affect us too much.

You do not need to hate India to make your country Pakistan great.

There are 2 ways to win a race - either by shoving your opponent down or by just focusing on running fast enough.
If you try to shove your opponent, the opponent will push back and both may fall down.

India and Pakistan are doing this to each other since independence - trying to shove each other down while other nations are moving ahead in the race.

Pakistan was created for the Muslims of South Asia. Until Islam is again ruling the entire South Asia, the goal is not achieved. For this to happen, Hindu India need to be destroyed.

Please don't derail the thread. You are going to cause an indian s*it show. If you want to do that, do it somewhere else.

So basically you want to unify Pakistan and India under muslim leadership, correct?
If that was the aim, then I think you would disagree with the partition altogether.

Jinnah was anyways offered to be the 1st PM of united India.

Me being here surely made a difference. Setting a few bhangee coverts pretending to be foreign nations on fire.

PDF should focus on the quality of discussion. An effort needs to be made to get to the level of PAKDEF. but for that we need more qualified experts on this forum. Maybe an outreach effort to Pakistani military/geopolitical experts? or even Pakistani media?

Just an idea :)

They will come, once you comprehensively get rid of the Anti-Pakistani racism and trolling for good. We need to raise our standards and aspirations. It CAN be done.
