BTW, banning camel slaughter was also among the various other election promises of Hindutvawadi BJP or it just popped up out of nowhere to divert the attention of the people from more pressing needs? Wondering when the entire India will be declared as a vegetarian state. Though I guess such a move would result in a war between the animals and the humans who would then fight for the green. May the better grazers win!

Probably Hindutvawadi BJP -ruled India is the only country in the world that dictates the dietary habitats of her citizens but doesn't tell them not to spit everywhere or urinate on the roadside, or not to throw the garbage everywhere at will etc. Looks like consuming animals is far more important an issue (or perhaps the only issue) than other civility matters. But hey, their country their rules! Great going!

in india, the smaller cats and the leopards are close to extinction... the smaller ones hunted down by the ever present dogs and some tribes ( for food and pelt ) and the leopards by stupid villagers.

if left to me, i would publicly execute anyone who harms the smaller cats and leopards, directly and indirectly.

the cheetah has long been extinct in india.

as for camels, the previous congress party governments should have banned... no point in eating camels.

Chickens and goats are not happy at all. They are complaining that they are considered as the 'Shooders' of the animals kingdom hence left alone for dying on the chopping boards. I have heard they are thinking of changing their religion too so at-least they wont die as 'shooders' of the animal kingdom.

did u even read the article ?? Slaughter of camel is banned only in rajasthan bcz of the dimnishing numbers of camels in the state and bcz it happens to be the state animal.. No civilized state will allow its state animal with depleting numbers to be killed/slaughtered in its state.. the bustard bird hunting of pak is a diffrnt case though as we r speaking of civilized countries and states..
