امریکامیں پاکستانی فلموں کافیسٹول شروع ہونےوالا ہے

اسلام آباد : نیویارک میں پہلے پاکستانی فلم فیسٹیول کا آغاز 3 دسمبر کو ہو گا۔
پاکستانی فلم انڈسٹری جو ماضی میں عرصہ دراز تک مسلسل پستی کا شکار رہی دوبارہ کامیابی کی جانب گامزن ہے۔نیو یارک میں پہلی بار پاکستانی فلمی میلہ ہونے جا رہا ہے جس میں ہٹ پاکستانی فلمیں ڈانس کہانی،لاہور سے آگے،ایکٹر ان لا،ماہی میر،ہومن جہاں اور دختر نمائش کے لئے پیش کی جائیں گی۔
اس فلمی میلے کو نیو یارک میں منعقد کرانے کی اجازت لینے میں اقوام متحدہ میں پاکستان کی مستقل سفیر ملیحہ لودھی نے اہم کردار ادا کیا۔اس حوالے سے میڈیا سے گفتگو کرتے ہوئے ملیحہ لودھی نے کہا کہ پاکستان مختلف نوعیت کی شاندار موضوعات پر مبنی فلمیں بنا رہا ہے جو درست معنوں میں پاکستانی ثقافت کے عکس کی آئینہ دار ہیں۔
انھوں نے کہا کہ ہم یہ فلمیں نیویارک میں لا رہے ہیں اس طرح سے اقوام متحدہ کے 193 ممالک کے سفارتکار بھی ان فلموں سے محظوظ ہو سکیں گے اور ان کو ہماری فلم انڈسٹری کے لوگوں کی قابلیت کا اندازہ بھی ہو جائیگا۔اس فلمی میلے کا اہتمام اقوام متحدہ میں پاکستان کا مستقل مشن کر رہا ہے۔ فلمی میلہ 4 دسمبر تک جاری رہے گا۔ ایجنسی/ سماء

Sabiha Khanum all set to attend the Pakistan Film Festival in New York
To talk of Sabiha in the 21st century is to perceive the style and substance of a graceful lady who defined two generations

The first-ever film festival outside Pakistan screening top-rated Pakistani movies is to be held in New York from December 3-4, organised by the Permanent Mission of Pakistan to the United Nations and managed by Catwalk Event Management.
Catwalk Event Management & Productions proudly announces to host Sabiha Khanum at the red carpet event of the Pakistan Film Festival on December 2. Sabiha Khanum - remembered as the First Lady of Pakistani silver screen was the most successful film heroine of the '50s and '60s. She was unanimously the best film actress in the film history of Pakistan. Sabiha Khanum won several Nigar awards and also won the Pride of Performance award from the government of Pakistan.
To talk of Sabiha in the 21st century is to perceive the style and substance of a graceful lady who defined two generations.
The Catwalk Event Management & Productions CEO Frieha Altaf, while expressing her views said, "It is a great honour to host a legend like Sabiha Khanum - one of our pioneer actors in Lollywood from the 1950s and '60s. She exuded elegance and dignity in her performances and one remembers her and Santosh, her husband, as the it couple. Catwalk events and production has always strived to honour legends in the past like Mehdi Hassan, Mahnaz and Naheed Akhtar as well as actors like Nadeem Baig, Muhammad Ali and Zeba in their awards shows."
Sehrish Khan, the granddaughter of Sabiha Khanum, will also accompany her at the event. Sehrish Khan, a 27-year-old Pakistani American is the current title holder of Miss Pakistan US. Miss Pakistan US, Sehrish Khan is not new to the fashion world; her participation at Fashion Pakistan Week, sharing the stage with Mukhtaran Mai was highly appreciated by everyone. Sehrish is currently working in two movies out of which one is 'Rehbra' with Amin Iqbal and Saira Afzal.
Expressing her views about the film festival she said, "My grandmother has remained out of the public eye for quite some time now. But it gives her great pride that I'm following my passion as an artist so she didn't want to miss the opportunity to support me and support Pakistani cinema."
The festival is part of the continuing efforts by Pakistan's UN Mission, led by Ambassador Maliha Lodhi, to project the country's soft power.
"Cultural diplomacy is an essential part of a diplomat's job aimed at winning hearts and minds", Ambassador Lodhi says, adding that "Pakistan has much to offer the world in this regard, and our responsibility is to take this to the international arena."

4 Pakistani movies to be showcased at Pakistan Film Festival in New York

Pakistan’s leading film distribution and production house in Pakistan ARY Films will be showcasing 4 films at the first Pakistan Film Festival organised by the Pakistan Mission in New York on Dec 3rd & 4th, 2016.

Two recently released movies under the ARY Films banner, Dobara Phir Se and Lahore Say Aagey will be premiering at the Film Festival in New York. In addition, Oscar award winner Sharmeen Obaid Chinoy’s animated blockbuster 3 Bahadur and Mahira Khan starrer Ho Mann Jahaan will also be screened during the two-day festival.

“It is a proud moment for ARY Films to be a part of this film festival, and showcasing some of the brilliant body of work we have brought forth under our umbrella to this prestigious audience,” stated Salman Iqbal, Founder and President of ARY Digital Network, who will also be attending the Film Festival.

To support their films being showcased at the Film Festival, the actors & directors are also going to be in New York including Mahira Khan, Saba Qamar, Wajahat Rauf, Yasir Hussain, Sheheryar Munawar, Asim Raza, Tooba Siddiqui, Adeel Husain, Sanam Saeed and Mehreen Jabbar.
