It's funny how England lets these fanatics immigrate to the country in the first place. I honestly believe Western countries 'milk' the rising Islamophobia in their own countries to achieve various objectives.

Sorry my friend, I don't agree. England allowed the correct people to immigrate. They were honest and hard working people who immigrated. This mess is being created by the so called second generation who were born British citizens.

There was no fanatic muslim decades ago. This is a new phenomena. Even if some were fanatics(for argument's sake) it does not mean their children will be so. Most of the new fanatics look down upon their own people because they are not "pure" enough. There is a definite pattern of how a young british muslim becomes fanatic, and that happens inspite of the opposition of their parents.

Many of the UK immigrants in the past have been poor & uneducated; who run stores, who have tendencies of blindly following religious clerics than being or doing anything productive for their families & society. And it is the children of these UK immigrants that you see a lot of fanatics coming from.

You know what the funny thing is? I met this ex-Christian lady from Indiana, who told me of the rising Christian extremism in that state. She told me that she came from a time when bar code readers/scanners were new, & the Sunday school she was in had preachers that used to say that "when Jesus comes back, they're going to have bar codes on the back of their heads, & they'll be scanned by these bar code readers to see who goes to heaven, & who goes to hell."

This can happen only in america, a strangely religious country in western world. It is a paradox that they are so religious (many are fundamentalists) yet the country has freedom for other religions.
In contrast, europe is least religious. But they are also intolerant of face veil.
I guess brits have best of both, they are not religious, and they allow you to practice your religion in any way you want.
But brits seem to be losing the fight against radicalization of muslims.

So long as it is not full face covered, I think it should be fine.

However, the way the whole thing has escalated and opinions hardened, I would not be surprised if the white British not say = And mini skirts and bikinis allowed in Saudi Arabia!

Well these things are still not as bad as in other EU states such as France. I personally think UK govt. should take all the steps to prevent the immigrants with these sort of points of view and also kick out the people with such menalities.

If you can put limitations on burqa and hijab- why not ban burning of holy books- so to stop this non sense once and for all- But there Freedom of Expression/Opinion takes over-

Why do people not have the right to hate? As long as they restrict themselves to words, if the Western governments are not hypocrites they will not silence their freedom of expression.

They are as right in criticising the Britain as the Uighurs are in criticising that Islam in Xinjiang is not allowed to be practised except under State sponsored Islamic clerics or their children not being allowed in the mosque till 18 or there being no Islamic University allowed!

If people hate the West, then why live there?

Why people are not allowed to hate? Ask Ai Wei Wei and Liu Xiaobo or those massacred in Tienanmen Square or Falun Gong!
