Wealth Inequality in America

yes mixed economy... I think it gives the private sector a chance.... I am no economist, but I do believe that everyone should have free health care and education...

my point was to have free education option

education is free up until college. Then it just depends on if you want to go to a private college/ state college and if you are willing to do some military service. I know alot of blacks and hispanics who are actually getting paid to attend some colleges due to them not having their type of people. it's frustrating but its happening due to their low income and ethnicity.

still only few get "free" college education... not all

because the government allowed the rich get richer, which is not bad thing, however there should be regulations... for example now the student graduates from college with debts..
You sound like someone who is filled with petty jealousy for those who are wealthier than you are. You seems to believe that the ONLY way anyone could get wealthier than you and others is through illegal means.

The moment you allow someone to exercise economic freedom, meaning the freedom to trade his goods and services and to keep what he earned through such trade, wealth inequality is inevitable. Some will work harder than others. Greed may be a sin, but it is not a crime, because if you legislate greed, however ill defined, into criminality, everyone will be guilty of greed at some point in their lives.

Marxism states...

Critique of the Gotha Programme-- I
From each according to his ability, to each according to his needs!
Therefore, anyone who exceeds his basic needs are guilty of the sin and crime of 'greed'. The communists tried and failed and in the process, created misery wherever they imposed their misguided ideas about humanity.

YOU and your whining marked you as a communist no matter how much you may deny it.

Why should I pay for your education and health care? I do not care if you feel you are obligated to pay for my education and health care. If you want to pay for my education and health care out of the goodness of your heart, I will gladly accept your charity, but explain to us all why is each of us is somehow legally burdened to pay for each other's education and health care.

If your god morally compelled you to give away X% of your wealth to the poor, that is between you and your god. But what give you the moral right to impose that agreement onto others?

.
than a mix of socialism and capitalism... because as the video showed, capitalism also didn't work well in the U.S

Best is to have capitalism mixed with elements of socialism like welfare for those genuinely not able to work, free good quality education and healthcare etc.

Lol jealous fools. Only in America could an illiterate man come and open a business and end up a millionaire. This is a land of opportunity. It's not like The ME or Asia where connections and bribes is the only way to success.

Get real will you, the only business an illiterate man can open and end up a millionair i can think of is drug trafficking ya, any other business if you want to make it a success you required knowledge up to your head

Half of America is living in Poverty

While it’s no surprise that nearly 50 million Americans live below the poverty line, new statistics from the US Census show that almost 100 million others are counted as low-income citizens, making half of the population of America officially poor.

The latest figures out of the US Census Bureau show that in addition to the 49.1 million Americans who fall below the official poverty line, those that rake in enough to be between that level and the income equitable to double it fall into a new “low-income” category, which counts an additional 97.3 million people. Altogether, that clump of nearly 150 million Americans living in dire economic standing accounts for about 50 % of the US population.

That is about 150 million yanks living a life of poverty , hunger & utter desperation.

Our poor live with air conditioning, LCD TVs, running hot/cold water, supermarkets filled with food, many are fat, many have two cars. How does the poor in ID live?

Some say Karl Marx predicted a communist revolution in US

It happened in Russia, in reality

Marx said that communism can only work when the society is fully industrialised, and at that time it was only the UK. The Soviet Union and other non-fully industrialised countries, e.g. China, NKorea, Vietnam cannot become communist because their productivity was too low and the economy was still too agrarian – that according to Marx' theory.

Germany and most European countries avoided high inequality and maintained stability by introducing many interim solution as an intermediate stage, namely socialism, the stage before communism and for a long time it worked out fine. But that is eroding since many of our politicians have fallen into the trap of emulating American style capitalism after the end of the Cold War. Inequality has risen particularly in Germany. When I was young I never witnessed any beggars on our streets, the cities were much cleaner and life was more relaxed. Fortunately we are still far from the inequality that exists in the US.

It is 'unfortunate' only if you stoke feelings of jealousy out of people.

I live within walking distance of two millionaires in my neighborhood. Each have a swimming pool in his backyard. When they fill their swimming pools, no one in the neighborhood is deprived of drinking and bathing water. The 'wealth inequality' criticism/argument cowardly implies that somehow in order for the rich to be rich, they have to take away from the rest.

Sure, the homeless people on the streets are just jealous of the millionairs and they deserve to live on the street since they are just too stupid to make their first million although they had three low paying jobs before the ended up homeless because those three jobs still couldn't make ends meet for their necessary bills. Those lazy bumps should indeed have taken a fourth job and quit sleeping, resting, wasting their time with watching TV and eating junk food and they wouldn't have ended up on the street.
