The restraint of India is not about attacking Pakistan, the restraint is about what after the attack because of the fragile state of Pakistan. Apart from your army there is nothing in your country which can keep it together. As soon as your army is out of picture, it will become another Syria. And we as Indians will never want Syria next to our border.

What you are saying is not possible. India is overpopulated indeed but they are building dams all across India to fulfill the needs for their future generations. This is causing the Earth's weather systems to change, if you compare the data of last 10 years during the monsoon season you would find the winds and pattern of rains have changed. This year the Low pressure that forms over Pakistan formed over Gujrat (India) and the secondary low that formed over Afghanistan formed over Oman. This meant the rains were limited over time these would further evolve and we would see most of the rains in India which would fill up the dams that are being constructed. With this water India can turn the dessert areas into fertile lands and have enough food supply for their future generations..

Now coming to the topic of vaporizing the people of India is not possible as this would also destroy Pakistan. This is the reason Pakistan changed her nuclear doctrine and started building technical nuclear weapons.

We have seen USA use Daisy Cutter Bombs in Afghanistan that flattened any thing within 2 km.These were conventional bombs so a conventional Nuclear bomb would cause a minimum destruction of 10-20 km. This would lead to a very high loss of life some thing that no sane member state of the UN would allow.

Who ever fires the first nuclear missile knows that they would not be permitted to fire a second or even a retaliatory response. The environmental fall out of this would be very high and every country on the planet will be effected.
