From all accounts this was the bloodiest fighting pak army faced in the entire operation with many men killed, I'd like to know in detail what happened, as some one who honetsly cares about the pak army, the public deserve to know what happened to the brave men who laid down there lives in the fighting against the terrorists. It makes no sense for so many to be killed in such a short period of time, but I'm making this thread for people to come forward so we can discuss this and learn some facts about what really happened, its important that we know of this mission so we can avoid the sons of tomorrow not losing there lives due to poor intel. I am not trying to created propangada against the pak fauj i just want to know a little truth.
@Horus He is an indian pretending to be pakistani. Track his IP and u will know. Or put his real flags on.

Tirah was one of their last strongholds of TTP and they have been beaten out of it , thousands of militants have been killed and those who were left ran for their lives ,

LI spokesman Salahuddin Ayoubi told journalists by mobile phone from an undisclosed location that the loss of Akkakhel and Sipah was a ‘tactical retreat’ and they would soon retake the area with support of TTP and Jamaatul Ahrar activists.

lol @ "tactical retreat" , they got their teeth kicked in and whatever they have lost they have never been able to take it back , the *** kicking and trud flushing began from Swat , then to South Waziristan , the to North Waziristan , now Tirah. It is definitely a fight to the finish , PA is in it for the long haul and they will kill the rest of these rats , it's just a matter of time

If anybody wants to know officially what happened...then Good Luck!

Unofficially as some members have already said and as was discussed before, casualties were undertaken. The exact figure is up for debate, but it was on the high side and everyone I have talked to maintains that it was sheer stupidity and callousness which caused this.

I think we should put an end to this incident now until we get further concrete news.

Commenting on these issues again and again like this ain't gonna get us anywhere...

@Horus ban ban this guy. He is an indian pretending to be pakistani. Track his IP and u will know. Or put his real flags on.
i find no reason to doubt him as an indian-
his concerns are my concerns as well-
we are loosing dozens of brave soldiers but for some reason unknown the army hides the real casualties and want to show to general public as if this is a walk in the park fight with the terrorists- all glory no sweat- i cant understand the logic-

You want to hear the truth, then talk to your friends in Military, they will tell you what happened....this was not the first big hit we had in Tirah, there were few before this, as bratva said there was one attack during K-1 where we lost a bloody Tank.....nobody made a mistake, its about getting best under the circumstances, but somehow enemy has the element of surprise, they have the vantage points, you don't.....so i order to capture those Points you have to fight to the end, one or the other way.......
@Bratva - i think you remember how SSG was pinned down in Tirah op back in 2011

Not in 2011, but in April 2013. . A team was dispatched to save them, they got ambushed too. Casualties reached 30-40.

The picture in post#34 That captain died in same Op initiated in April

If anybody wants to know officially what happened...then Good Luck!

No wonder if CO of the OP, whoever that was of Brig or Maj.Gen rank would be made ISPR DG in the future. Our current Bajwa sahab was made DG under similar circumstances if reports are to be considered true, that he botched several ops in S.Waziristan

I doubt that our current Chief(COAS) will allow anybody to walk free with blood on their hands, especially in a case like this....more plausible reason for hiding the actual number could be Counter Intel & not to encourage Militants

Was it 50+ on our side ? and other unit as 57 Baloch unit. It is already disclosed
Yes ....that's right ...but name of the killed TTP leaders were not disclosed ...they were some high profile commanders ...say Instructors ...seasoned terrorists ....who were sent to hell ...!

@thrilainmanila

your thread is based on a tweet done by Wajahat S Khan which claimed that we lost more men in one encounter then entire Zarb e Azb :
He didn't provide any other details so clearly there is an element of mischief in this type of reporting , there are long held narratives that are being challenged and crushed as the Army moves into militant strongholds in FATA which is

Its possible that we could have lost between 10 to 15 soldiers in one encounter , I personally know a unit that lost 9 in one encounter in an operation in south waziristan, so losses have happened but the degree of exaggeration and myth propagation, that even seasoned journalists are guilty of , far exceeds the reality. For a unit to loose 10 soldier in one encounter is still a huge loss as units are like close knit families.

Never the less , in no encounter the militants have been able to stand their ground , the Army has been pushing them out of one stronghold after another.

Coming to Shahdat of the Lt Col , a Lt Col is the Commanding Officer (CO) of the unit and in Pakistan Army COs have always led from the front , that is how the tradition of our Army is , the COs go into battle and not sit in the battalion headquarter mess

371 men have embraced shahadat during Zarb-e-Azb. The ist para of this post is not true.

behold the level of failure and learning disability by the master of retards umar baqwaas according to captain paagal because I choose not to show my flag under my username and because I don't come online too much (because I work for a living) I must be an Indian in disguise ppl like umar baqwaas is what's wrong with PDf like I said in my previous post I didn't want any Indians to participate in this thread to pain mockery of our brave soldiers

I'm only hear to wonder why they were so many deaths on our side, like I said previously it's unusual for an army to suffer such losses in this day and age
