The establishment of virology lab in Karachi. Production of ventilators in Pakistan.
But Pakistani media is quiet on the achievement of IK's government. This had not happened
in 70 years. And especially in the rule of PMLN and PPP. If it did we would have been producing ventilators and masks production a while back.
The conditions of our hospitals is a living testament to the achievements of past governments.

he is jumping ahead of the gun but what he meant was that based on genome sequence they will try to use the existing drugs to see how effective they are, not the drugs they will produce..

Maybe you are the biggest derbari. Can't even appreciate the good things.
After all Pakistan belongs to all. Even in the time of crisis you people are unable to appreciate.

He is running an untamable, unmanageable 5th most populas country that has defaulted. He has successfully saved us from default, stabilised us and now fighting corona so well that we see no panic like in India. We see no mass movement, we see no shortage of food. We see all the equipment is booked and coming. And now food is transported to the poor though tiger force. While country is in lock down. Trade has not stop. Panic has not happened. Pharmacies and stores are opened food is Avalible at stores. Even us has panic buying and food is not Avalible. Even us has 1 lakh cases. Aren't they careful. Don't they have 1000 times better border and airport control? And don't they have the world best health care system. And don't itlay has the 2nd best health care system?

Main Points of this video in English are:

1. Pakistan has independently sequenced the genome of unique strains of coronavirus found in Pakistan at Jamil-ur-Rahman Center for Genome Research in roughly 10 days of work.

Not relevant but the pakistani man announcing this was the sixth human in the world to have his full human genome sequenced. it was mostly done in Pakistan by Pakistani scientists while some work was carried out in china in parallel to share the workload there.

Pakistan now can sequence the entire genome of any living thing and can do so independently on its own.

2. He also announced that Pakistan has set up an institute of virology with labs having bio-level safety 3 (enough safety to handle pathogen that are very infectious and lethal and can enter body through inhalation). Advanced technology is being used for this purpose, with some equipment imported from Germany.

Many of the scientists working there had their doctorates and other advanced training from Germany and China.

The institute has started working immediately starting with existing antiviral drug testing and measuring their effectiveness for unique strains found in Pakistan while will start further research on virology shortly. It seems some mutated strains probably have appeared that require further work (e.g. response of immune system to those specific strains while taking anti-viral and other drugs).

3. Pakistan has designed two different kinds of Ventilators, 20 of these are being tested and application has been submitted to DRAP (Drug Regulatory Authority Of Pakistan) for priority approval. Ventilators were designed by Pakistan engineering council.

Government is lacking as well. We can't say that they are doing a brilliant job. There were few people on Twitter whom had 3D printer and were producing multi patient ventilator part.

Pakistan kept its borders open for months with China and Iran while all this was going on. Then didn't quarantine people. And we all know what PTI did at Taftan border to allow virus to come.
