Hello all...

What are the different steps that should be taken by both the countries to improve their bilateral relationship?

Please share your thoughts on this regard...

Please lets avoid any flame game or any derailing of the topic...

.
For India.

1) Let the water flows in BD's river.
2) Give our Talpotti back.
3) Stop killing civilians by BSF.
4) Remove all non tariff barier so that our goods can find its market in India.
5) Settle maritime boundary.
6) Stop anti BD propaganda.
7) Improve attitude towards Bengali speaking community in Assam.
8) Stop Push in Bengali speaking people in Bangladesh.

For Bangladesh.
1) Pay attention to Indian concern in terrorism.
2) Increase people to people contact and allow investment from India in special economic zone.
3) Open up Chittagong and Deep sea port.
4) Allow rail transit for India.
5) Allow tran shipment for Indian goods. (No to Indian vehicle entering to BD due to security concern)
6) Joint Naval exercise in Bay of Bengal and Indian ocean.

With this attitude there is no scope of improving. You try to give indians bones they will try to bite your hand.

Yes there is a huge issue in regards to that and BSF personal posted on the border are trigger happy , recently a human rights organization based in kolkata slammed BSF for killing innocent people , there is huge amount of illegal cross border activities but that does not warrant the heavy handed attitude.Hope that does answer your question and you can see the other threads as well there are numerous article in regards to this.

What about stopping BD citizens from entering India?

The best decision ever taken by India is to create the fence and deploy BSF all over the place..eventually they will will electrify the whole border. If global warming is true then half of BD is going under water. This is the only way to keep them out of India.

.
BD citizen is not taking over India. Its BJP and VHP syndrome taking over your mind. You complete your fencing and electrifying them and its your business. And dont worry about the global warming. We have our backup plans. BD land is rising in a faster rate than Sea itself. If you had time just go and study Ganges delta geology and how this land was created.

If so then good for BD..but I don't think India can take that risk.Cheaper and easier making a fence and electrifying it than providing homes and work for 150 million people in an already over populated country.

India should then control the population. Neither Pakistan nor BD wants an overflowing population in India where it is forced to stretch its land, because there is no land down south. Your over population is a bigger worry than the damn global warming!:smokin:

But India's populations grows at a much slower rate than Pakistan's and BD's.Isnt the fertility rate for pakistan somewhere around 3.6 per woman compared to 2.7 for India?and BD actually has a density of 1000 people per km!!! India has 300 something per km.so who actually has more of a problem with population wrt to the land area?

Well, 90% of BDs land is inhabitable and fertile. This is flat land. If you consider the population in India in flat and inhabitable land then it should not be any different than BD. Also our fertility rate is way less than India and infact lowest in south asia (not sure about SL). Regarding Pakistan, it can hold double the population it has right now. They exported 4 billion dollar worth of rice and food last year if I was not wrong.

Fertility rate of BD is higher than India's..much higher.India has the lowest growth rate of the 3 and it should reduce even more quickly in coming years with the faster economic progress of recent times.

There are simply no correct statistics in these regards. Especially that of Pakistan. BD could have a problem with the population mainly because of its geographical nature, but i still doubt your statistics in this case also. Nonetheless, none of that denies the fact that the Indian population is the higher cause of concern for the world at large compare to anything related to the global warming for a foreseeable future!
