I have noticed that many people take water for granted in Pakistan where they have to pay minimum charges or don't pay for water at all. We used to have fixed water bill in UK in the past but now bill depend on your usage after they were introduced water meter and I have noticed that my monthly water bill is costing me more than my electric bill and very much same as gas bill so guys do you pay for water bill at your place or its just uk which introduced water meter :(

So much bills and charges take half of my salary ..Pakistan is lucky no council tax, no road tax no parking charges no MOT no insurance no Tv license no expensive water bll and few pay for income tax and national insurance so still you guys are ungrateful ..why why why

yea but there are services in return although the services are decreasing with the latest being bin collection. There is a difference in Pakistan you pay for electricity but where is the electricity? you pay for water at least there is water in the tap where is the water in the taps in Pakistan? you pay for gas and your cooker or stove will have gas when you want to cook something. where is gas in Pakistan?

nice ploy I must say lately pmln have been saying that in the past people didn't have these things and they survived without electricity and gas but even water was still needed to survive in the past.

your tax makes sure we have good living standard.. do you want UK to be like pakistan?
I am paying tv license although I rarely watch tv.. ever. :(

you always have to pay for water, but it should not cost as much as electricity.
check your tariff per unit.
obviously you have to pay for gas as well.
some councils now even charge for bin collection.

Is that like cable? or do you have to pay tax to own a TV? :what:
how do you think the bbc runs without adds

I never faced any water issue in Pakistan no matter where I went and charges were minimum in some societies like 5 to 10 pounds per year . I am not against water charges but it should not be this much to match electric or gas bill especially when they keep recycling this used water ..Pakistan is over populated country and still people enjoy more while paying less for example who pay council tax there or who pay for road parking charges even when places in Pakistan are so congested as we do see in central London where parking charges get double and triple

you have to pay tv license to licensing authority(actually its a form of tax) if you watch live broadcasting in the UK.. if you have a tv, you have to prove that you dont use it for watching broadcast...and then avoid paying it.
now the rule has been changed to include any device that can show live tv, like laptop, ipad etc.

TV license fee helps to run bbc and I think even channel 4(not sure).

for cable you got to pay separate to the company.

Pakistan needs management in population, Health, education and all forms of governance.

Do you pay taxes for using the toilet or the oxygen in the air? I guess that's next on the list.

Its not just one tax mate ..you have tax for every single thing out there lol
so obviously you enjoy better standard of living at cost of money ..save nothing at the end

I am luck as I cannot have a water meter due to my location and the unwillingness of the water company to spend millions to put a water meter.

Tell me you are jealous:D

This is fast becoming a theme everywhere. People have not taken enough care in water management in the sub continent.

Importing in modern techniques in utilising water still offer a very positive sign for Pakistan in the long run.

As far as if you only put charity collected in Pakistan alone it will change Pakistan. Only condition is honesty

Hey first of all, you don't need to be jealous if the poeple in Pakistan are getting something cheaper than yours..May Allah protect Pakistan and Pakistan people from the evil eyes of the jealous and "سڑیل" people

Second what you are saying is not true..it depends on where you live in Pakistan. In most of the large cities, there are water meters and I pay the bills for my empty home (except for a guard and his family) in Pakistan.

Third, people in Pakistan are paying more in taxes and bills relative to their incomes vis-a-vis UK or any other country so your conclusion is flawed.
