BD getting 'due' share of Teesta water : Rizvi

Bangladesh is receiving its 'due' share of Teesta river water though the government is yet to sign a treaty with India over water-sharing, Prime Minister's Foreign Affairs Adviser Gawher Rizvi has claimed, reports bdnews24.com.

His statement comes a year after India deferred the signing of a treaty on Teesta river water sharing following objections from West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee.

"We did not get less water though the treaty was not signed. We are getting our due share," Rizvi said at a seminar Friday.

He, however, declined to comment on when the treaty could be signed.

Referring to India's commitment to ink the treaty, the adviser said, "India's central government is trying its best to have the West Bengal government agreed on the treaty."

He felt the geographical positioning of Bangladesh is an opportunity to turn the country into a business hub in the South and South-East Asia through development of communications system.

The seminar was organised by 'Biswa Shanti O Manobadhikar Andolon Bangladesh' at the National Press Club.

This Gawher seems to me a direct descendent of Mir Zafar Ali Khan, the traitor. He went to Delhi to seek Indian politicians' influence so as not to be sacked in a possible Cabinet re-shuffle. He is now reciprocating this Indian favour by telling sweet words on Teesta water.

This fellow did not even care to check all the flow data from Indian source. He did not even say that it is now Monsson season and therefore more water is available now even if India does not want so. He is trying to make us fool by making a false claim.

What else can be expected from bootlicking dalals. These traitorous clowns openly say they want to give free corridor and this is just petty lying on behalf of their terrorist masters.

Mr Rizvi is a knowledgeable man. There is no need for any water sharing treaty, bangladesh gets is fair share as it is.

I mistakenly missed one of the toppers Gawher from the list of heads to be assassinated someday ago in a post and later regretted. This kuttar bacchcha has to be shot on indo-Bangla border and kept hanged on barbed wire fence for indefinite time until vultures finish it as a delicious meal.

What a disgrace but then again, is it a surprise? BAL was installed by Hindutva radicals themselves. It's the fault of Bangladeshis, in particular the political activists, media, 'think tanks', so called 'civil society' and other 'intellectuals' that they did not forestall the malicious and nefarious spread of backward Hindutva radicalism through their agents BAL.

I am completely in favour of cutting off all relations with the hub of Hindutva terror so that their interference and influence can be curbed drastically. If someone is opposed to this idea, can they mention any thing that Bangladesh gains from the hub of RSS and VHP terror that Bangladeshis can not obtain from elsewhere or produce domestically?

Not only him. I believe dozen of Awami top leaders including Ghaddar-e-abrar Hasina deserve similar treatment.

Ghaddari is a disease. These people are the symptoms. Only treating the symptoms never cure the disease. One has to go the extra mile and destroy the pathogens (some certain foreign intelligence agency) causing it. To achieve that, one needs to administer powerful antibiotics (boosting the capabilities of our own spy agencies). A continued dosage of the antibiotics can suppress the symptoms (ghaddars) until the source of the germs (you can guess) is taken care of (disintegrated). ;)

I think the expectations need to be set correctly among the BD people.

They are largely under wrong expectations about how much is due to them and what are Indian needs and how it works the world over.

India has been over generous in the past but there are limits.

Let them first get a deal with China for Brahmputra waters and then let's see.

It is the other way around. Indian baniyas need to fix their mentality first. Here everything was clear. Initially bangladesh asked 50-50 share, indian government said 55-45, later decided at 52-48. But baniya mamata created problem by saying no more then 25% of water can be given.

I really dislike this sort of traitor. If everything is clear and bangladesh is getting its due share then why indian baniyas are not signing the agreed treaty.

No we'll never get a deal with China to fill Indian rivers. There's no guarantee the water will ever reach us. In fact, China needs to completely halt the water flow until India signs a deal promising BD 50% share of the released water. ;)
