Zia Ul Haq was a great leader and a true patriot. Zia Ul Haq was fully aware of the planning of Indian yet he decided to visit india to give a message and that message was so powerful that india stood back and changed their plan. Didn't Zia produce the fanatics that are haunting our society today? What was the point in breaking tv's, fighting a pointless war in Afghanistan where the people hate us and give precedence to mullahs and Wahabi school of thought? What happens when there is a difference in beliefs between various sects within sunnism? Zia made Pakista the mess it is today. LEJ was born during his time as was the MQM. Nawaz Sharif was chief minister Punjab during his time and rose from there.

Pointless for you maybe...USSR( Indias ally)in afghanistan was a grave threat to our internal security at that time considering their role in the Bengal secessionist movement and how they were gathering disgruntled NAP Paashtuns.

Zia didnt let afghan mujahadeen do any caos in Pak.. he actually made alot of money by keeping afghan, their refugee camps were away from cities,, afghan refugee brought alot of mess with them like kalashankoff culture and drugs but mujahadeen was safe even 89's election.

ZAB founded Pakistan's nuclear program and he paid for that with is life. Zia-ul-Haq also supported that but basically it was Pakistani establishment that wanted the nuclear program and Ghulam Ishaq Khan played a pivotal role in its progress.
