What's new

Watch banned film "India's daughter" here!

Let other countries not deal it or deal it. We should be focused on fixing our problem. In these things one should not look at 'image' and stuff. We fix our home good for us, else bad for us. That's the case with every country.
That is not the issue.Foreign media are more interested in rapes in a far away country than in their own backyard.

. .
No point in banning this in India. But Indian govt. should not have provided permission to screen it abroad.

It is just another opportunity for BBC to do propaganda against us. Congress was stupid to grant permission to a BBC correspondent, or in all probability they just din't care.

@SpArK

Did you watch? Don't miss this.

I watched it randomly.

I dont agree with the ban. Rape is not glorified in the documentary.

Its the name BBC thats the issue, if Zee news conducted a news report similar we wouldnt have given a Fcuk or it would nt have made to headlines, but BBC , CNN , AL- jazeera are expected to put up only good stories because we believe foreigners will stereo type us on the basis of what they see in their country...

But we cant ban it in overseas but we banned it here....

I dont know how much of Indian population watches BBC documentaries... 3%?/ 2%??/ 1%?????

Let them. Ultimately their backyard is their problem and our backyard needs to be fixed.

So what? They report on whatever they want to... how does it concern you? You can do the same if you wish to.

And they would not do it there wasnt any interest in the story in the first place.. they are significant numbers of South Asians (or people of SA origin) living in the UK and other English speaking countries who are very interested in this matter.

Have you even watched the documentary?

Yea right, as if India is in any position to dictate to BBC if they can show the film or not.

I want to unban all the things banned by India, including many movies and the verses.

Welcome to PDF, where you have more freedom than in India.

It will work provided that as specified in the permission letter.

Nope. anything broadcast will find its own way to the internet. Permission letter can only theoretically apply to the person seeking that permission, not to anyone seeing the video.

.
Shocking.. The doc is not just about rape and the brutal murder of Jyoti Singh.. Or the propagation of a psychopathic rapist murderer .. It's about the status of women in society

Hope people will watch it without preconceived notions of bias.. Truly a eye opener

That from one of the posters that was put up during the protests after the rape.

Watch the documentary. I can't believe the stupidity of the government. It will move you & there is absolutely nothing there that can be said as tarnishing India's image. This is a sensitively handled, absolutely gut wrenching piece.

Watch. I would urge everyone here to watch this. The government's reaction is absolutely foolish..

That is different. It will not get as much viewer ship without the controversy. Its not as if global citizens are dying to know about rape in India. Better still it will not provide the film maker to make a profit out of bashing India and from the suffering of the victims.

First Poverty p0rn now this.
