I think knowing better English is not the only criteria....what Wasim Akram lacks is to keep the listeners and tv viewers totally interested in the match...Viewers need to be educated on match situation..over by over ....viewers want more interest, some inter-commentator competetion and anxiety in the match like what Ramiz Raja does, Tony Creig, Sanjay Manjerakar, Zimbabwe Pommie Mbangwa, or the English Mike Atherton, and a couple of South African / Australian top Commentators do.
The game of cricket not only needs to educate viewers but make it more intense and interesting.
