.
As for Indian mbts, they still have a road to travel as majority of their t-72s are still not night capable and neither can they fire on the move but are being upgraded and will have this tech soon. Situation is not as dismal as few think.

india retired there t55(vijyant) tanks long ago, pakistan still relay on modified t55 copy(alzarar ?) .indian T72(AJEYA) can give a good fight to alkhalid(MBT2000).

the no of T90s + ARJUN +Ajeya(modified) are enough to have numerical superiority over t80ud + alkhalid .
no offense:smitten:

just a comment
If u start ur reply by using words like "crap" "junk"
it is very offensive and rude. Also it effects ur argument in a very negative way and the other person immediately blocks his receptors and will never accept ur words.
So try to be more polite.

you really need to get your facts straight man, t-72 ajeya can take on Alkhalid?? just read the specs of both on google and argue.

T-90 was bought to counter t-80, again, read on net and you will find plenty of info on it. T-80 was bought by pakistan only as a stop gap measure because Alkhalid was being developed since 1989-90. Just look at what Alkhalid is at the moment and compare it with t-90. Arjun is not in the picture at the moment, even when it comes, it will not be the greatest threat at a mere figure of 124 especially in the harsh desert terrain of Thar/Rajhistan.

india retired there t55(vijyant) tanks long ago, pakistan still relay on modified t55 copy(alzarar ?) .indian T72(AJEYA) can give a good fight to alkhalid(MBT2000).

the no of T90s + ARJUN +Ajeya(modified) are enough to have numerical superiority over t80ud + alkhalid .
no offense:smitten:

bro this is because we know how to upgrade and moodify them.
HIT is producing some of the finest equipment the PA would have required.

the Al-Zarar is upgraded to a nice level and that too will be phased out once the Al-Khalid one planned 1200 units are complete and HIT moves ahead with Al-Khalid II.

let us not turn this into a "vs" thread but about arjun:undecided: the less we talk the better it is...

regards!

First i think you dont know the difference between Copy and Upgrade....

By your logic the AJEYA is also a copy of T 72.......

Yes India retired T55 long ago......Because they were not capable of fight in modern world.....

But Alzarar is upgrade of T55 (Russian) / Type 59 (Chineese).... Better gun, More Ammo, Better Armour, Better Engine, Better Powerto Weight ratio, Laser Range finder for better accuracy, Laser threat warning system.......All those things a modern tank can offer....Alzarar got it....

If someone thinks that old F16 with MLU kit are not a threat......He is living in fools heaven.....

no offense
India always enjoyed the numerical superiority ....No one denying it...

to keep it short Al-Zarar is a new tank design.
well f you perform 56 upgrades/modification to an existing design the out come will be a new design as far as performance is concerned.

for those who are intrested in details here is the summary i have collected from various articles and also posted on the Al-Zarar thread:
http://www.defence.pk/forums/land-forces/7768-al-zarrar-comparison-other-tanks-4.html#post1058002

The main modifications include improvements to armament, ballistic and armor protection, the fire control system, mobility and GPS. The fire control system features semi-automatic loading, computerized image stabilization and thermal imaging for day and night combat.

• 25 mm smoothbore tank gun with an auto frettaged, chrome-plated gun barrel.
• Ability to fire APFSDS, HEAT-FS and HE-FS rounds as well as anti-tank guided missiles
• Ability to fire a Pakistani DU (depleted uranium) round, Naiza capable of penetrating 550 mm of RHA armour at a distance of 2 km
• Semi automatic loader
• Dual-axis stabilization system and thermal imaging sights for the commander and gunner
• Laser range-finder for accurate range information and ballistics computer to improve accuracy
• Improved gun control system is also fitted.
• Power to weight ratio of 18.3 hp/tonne
• Maximum speed of up to 65Km/hr
• Modified torsion bar suspension system to improve crew comfort.
• Modular composite armour and explosive reactive armour
• Pakistani ATCOP LTS-1 laser threat warning system. The ATCOP LTS-1 warns the crew when the tank is the target of a laser designator or a laser rangefinder.
• Smoke grenade launchers
• Automatic fire-extinguishing and explosion suppression system to improve crew survivability.

HIT rebuilt a tank by modifying 50 features of the old T-59. It incorporated some of the HIT's systems, originally developed for the Al-Khalid MBT.
regards!
