VK Singh in new row, calls media 'presstitutes'

Congress seeks V K Singh's dismissal

NEW DELHI: Congress on Wednesday demanded immediate sacking of Union minister V K Singh for his controversial "presstitutes" remarks against newsmen :D and targeted Prime Minister Narendra Modi for not taking any action against him.
"We are not going to rest till the demand is met. He should be sacked immediately. This is a highly condemnable remark against the media, which is the fourth pillar of democracy," Congress spokesperson Khushboo told reporters at the AICC briefing.
Asked what the party would do if Singh was not removed, she said, "We will first wait to see what action is being taken." Khushboo said what is lamentable is that the Modi government and the BJP is full of ministers and leaders and MPs ranging from Sadhvi Niranjan Jyoti to Giriraj Singh and Sakshi Maharaj, known for making controversial remarks.
Singh came under attack from several Congress leaders who slammed the minister of state for external affairs over his remarks. Singh's "statement shows utter intolerance and incapacity to hear any kind of criticism or dissent", the Indian National Congress said on its Twitter handle, quoting its spokesman Abhishek Singhvi.
Another party spokesman, Sanjay Jha, tweeted, "General VK Singh's choice of dreadful terms to attack Indian media is not just politically inappropriate but seriously lamentable."
"Generally speaking, BJP confesses that it is a lousy, bad guardian of Indian democracy. A direct assault on Indian media is no private matter," Jha said in another tweet.
Singh, who is currently in Djibouti to oversee evacuation of Indians from Yemen, had on Tuesday compared the rescue operation from the war-torn country with his visit to the Pakistani mission recently, saying the evacuation was "less exciting". However, he later made snide remarks against a TV channel for playing up his comparison remarks.
"Friends what do you you expect from presstitutes," he said in a tweet late last night adding that last time the TV anchor thought there was 'O' in place of 'E'.
His remarks elicited sharp reactions from political parties as well as a media body.
Former Union minister Manish Tewari said that what Singh has said is "completely reprehensible" and needs to be condemned in strongest possible terms. "It's an assault on the freedom of the Press," he said.
Targeting Prime Minister Narendra Modi over the issue, he said that had there been a sensitive Prime Minister, he would have "dismissed" the minister by now. "But since the Prime Minister and the Minister seem to share a similar mindset, I have no expectation out of the PM," he said, alleging this is a "completely fascist" mindset.

The Donkeys of India.....err Sorry the #Presstitutes of Indian media!

.
& timesnow studio today was a brothel for a day with quite a few presstitutes gathered at one place & b!tching about the general.. & pretty sour Arnab was leading the cry!
Arnab and Times Now got slammed on Social Media, there were over 1lakh tweets supporting #HatsOffGeneral the trend was started by Zee news Sardar Rohit and it went viral. No one was watching Times Now since they started their tirade against the Government starting from Church attacks,Their viewer ship fell down, TRP is down along with their stocks. #ShameOnTimesNow was trending top worldwide.
So you can see the impact it had on Times Now earlier they did a U-TURN on church attacks and said No Christians were being persecuted and bashed Congress and Secular parties.
That itself shows the tide is turning, no longer can they form opinion in public, since the public are informed via Social Media instead of MSM.

The next 4 years must be the worst time for these Yellow Journalists, they will whine, cringe and lose their relevance in next 5 years eventually. What i see is the Public are being weaned off the MSM biased news in a systematic manner. ;)

.
He should not insult prostitutes. Media in India is worse. Analogous to pimps perhaps.

blaming the media is like shooting the messenger
if he thinks the current media is bad he should start his own newspaper or tv channel.
without free flow of information we would not be a democracy. we would be an oligarchy or a kleptocracy.

He is only blaming a certain section of Media which twists and spins his statements and indulges in manufacturing news while deliberately hiding the truth.
In this day and age of Social media truth cannot be hidden for long and those who try to do will get named and shamed online.

you have to point out specifics - or better start a newspaper to point out inaccuracies in other papers

every article needs to have an author. hold journalists feet to the fire

internet is a great leveller

.
people who voted never cared for these presstitues ... they live in their self created halo. and Gen Sahab just pricked it.
That's true, but that prick hurt the egos of these Yellow journalists who were not used to such treatment during UPA's 10 year term where they were pampered and showered with perks and freebies. They find the lack of such attention from Government very hard.
Like a Drug addict who is addicted to constant drug use and is suddenly stopped from shooting that drug,Then comes the withdrawal symptoms of that drug abuse, the same situation these #Presstitiutes are in right now.Rehabilitation and Withdrawal symptoms ;)

They already started countering these allegations online and Social media by OP ED's and online news portals.
Which these Yellow journalists find it unpalatable as they are used to selling one sided narrative they produce and Monopoly over the news, they don't like Competition.
