Read a few articles on Virginity tests which still take place in Afghanistan, Africa, Indonesia and even in some rural parts of India.

One would say this practice is embarrassing, medieval and humiliating. Another thing I find typical is how women are always resorted to undertake such an embarrassing, uncomfortable and horrible ordeal whilst men can pop as many weasels as they want and aren’t held accountable.

It takes two to tango.

What's there to say? Uneducated, backward, poorly developed mindsets still stuck to a futile notion of purity brought up by people eons ago. Propagated by the fact that men and women are still separated socially in their early years in the subcontinent, and are not allowed to freely express feelings. 'Marriage' has become a sales act, where you sell your pristine product to another pristine product. One has to be pure, the other has to have an MBA for compatibility.
