Villages across China

.
According to the history of urbanization, in the early stage, rural people come to the cities. But as the cities becoming developed, it's crowed, rich people will move out the downtown to the village. China is now amid the process. In the next few decades, shopping malls, hospitals, cinemas, schools and other public facilities will spread to rural areas, not just limited to big cities to only serve a small group of people.

. .
In the 70's when Mao was still in control, Chinese people were told they were having better living conditions than the Americans, Japanese and all of those who live in capitalist countries. We felt so sympathetic to the Taiwanese people that we wowed to liberate them.

Fast forward 40 years, it's almost as if the reverse has happened. If you only read news, see images from the likes of CNN, BBC and their copycat Times of India, you'd think all of us Chinese are still living in labor camps waiting for the civilized democracy fighters to liberate us ;)

When the villages in the North China become as rich as those in the Changjiang Delta, then I think we have pretty much accomplished our "全国迈入小康社会" goal.

wow take a bow China......absolutely breathtaking..these pictures compel me to accelerate my plans to visit China....and also to expand my list of places to visit..
u had better be quick before the traditional china villages die out!!

Many of these villages might have all the modern amenities but they lack one thing: soul.

What is soul? Soul is history, root, tradition, esthetics, art, the soft spot in your heart.
totally agree with u.
china villages should be unique to give a relaxing mood in harmony with its environment.

Chinese villagers are becoming richer and richer
many villagers become rich overnight coz they sell their land to the government
and a lot city guys envy them a lot

with the urbanization of Chinese population, a lot of poor villages will disappear or be abandomed. For the rest villages, the government launches "new countryside" movement, which make many villages beautiful and a lot of villagers move into new houses.

the following are some pics of villages in China, ranging from coast area to hinterland poor provinces.

Wow. These are villages ? They look like well established subdivisions ! Chinese people really are getting richer and richer eh? :)

On the last picture. What absolutely stunning wood carving ! Is that traditional Chinese wood carving or something ? And the family picture is so cute , too. Glad to see that the average Chinese family are prospering. :)

Whatever you say, they are typical villages in Zhejiang.
If you have chance, welcome to travel in the rural areas in Zhejiang.

Thanks for sharing the pictures, buddy. I really like the colorful facades of the homes ! They almost have a Caribbean feel to them due to the colors, very light and airy. Wonderful !

Yeah. It's a pleasant feeling to imagine that 1.4 billion of Chinese people, from a normal villager ... living in such a comfortable home. Actually, I thought that accommodate some of rich families not normal villager, workers ...

So China completed building the heaven of socialism ?

i will be taking a short trip of China next year in february but it is only going to be in Shanghai,Nanjing and tianjin....only major cities with a packed iternary and no room for xploring anything else.......and it will be unfortunate if the Chinese villages do disappear which i find extremely unlikely....

The Minka houses are really beautiful.

Thanks! Yes, they're very popular in the rural areas in the prefectures. They're common as 'summer' or 'weekend' getaways.

The more traditional, the more simplistic, the better, imho.

PS. Sleeping on the floors at night is the best, specially during spring or autumn seasons. So brisk and cool.
