What's new

Villages across China

The pix are not telling lies or posted for propaganda in accordance with party lines
The folks living there are indeed getting better quality of living

Every province has its pocket of poverty. Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Hubei ...and even in Beijing

There is nothing for us to feel ashamed of. It is a natural process of development

State-controlled media want to show positive sides of the countryside. They are not lies, but their are misleading...

I took these pictures when I visited Shanxi Province. The villages.

I wont say "misleading" just "not balanced" - a phenomena of the gap in the wealth of a nation which happens even in many developed countries
I am not bored of saying this again and again: we still have 100 million poor folks

China used more cement in the last 3 years than the U.S. did in the 20th century

China used more cement in the last 3 years than the U.S. did in the 20th century

simply because Chinese villages use none-to-less cement than US used to.
Let imagine, suddenly a huge population start to build their new house with cement.

My sister build house for American, a 2 million $ house use not much cement but wood and stone.
And it's not a multi storey house.

Rural area in Vietnam. not in the poorest area.

Japanese house closer to China in the Tang Dynasty,Taking into account the needs of the tourism industry.China can learn from.Refused to take into account cost factors that ancient buildings can be constructed in Japan.Tang legacy of great taste.

.
because Japan is much richer than China. To save money and space, we have to sacrafice the "traditional" outlook. We have to be practical, make it only functional. traditional archtectures are designed for tourists.
yes,Today there are modern Chinese traditional architecture, just like Chinese traditional style architecture need Higher costs, This is the main reason for the not popularity in villages

.
Here are some pictures of modern Chinese architectural tradition, these costs are generally high.
Ordinary people can not afford。Especially the completely traditional building

Chinese architectural style of each period different.I like the style of the Tang Dynasty.Modern antique building lifeless.

These pictures are not true to the whole rural areas in China, 'cause they are newspaper pictures intended for propaganda. Many villages in China have been abandoned, leaving only eldlies and children.

sorry to disappoint you, many of these pics are shot by ordinary netizens
don't use your little brain to generalize everything

State-controlled media want to show positive sides of the countryside. They are not lies, but their are misleading...
