High-speed railway from Ho Chi Minh city to Can Tho will use wind energy

Recently, Southern Institute of Science and Technology and EDES Group (USA) has signed a memorandum of cooperation to build high-speed railway route from Ho Chi Minh city to Can Tho with total investment of 3,6 billion USD in the form of BOT (build – operate – transfer).
Highlights of the high-speed railway project is built by technical standards of dual high-speed railway grade 1 with international gauge about 1,435 mm; response of maximum speed of the train is 200 km / h for with passenger transport. Shorten more than 30km route, thereby saving more than $ 900 million.
Railway project from Ho Chi Minh city to Can Tho city including 10 stations in the distance of 134 km, the first station is Tan Kien (Ho Chi Minh city), the end of station is Cai Rang port (Can Tho city), each station will develop a new satellite city for Ho Chi Minh city and provinces, such as Long An, Tien Giang, Vinh Long, Can Tho city.
On the railway crossing, a new satellite city will invest to develop clean technologies and high-tech agriculture in order to contribute to economic development of the provinces in Mekong Delta.

According to Southern Institute of Science and Technology, the railway system investment from Ho Chi Minh city to Can Tho city is necessary because the project is suitable with the plan to 2020 and vision to 2050.
According to experiences from the United States, Canada shows that the railway is appropriate to nuclear cities, satellite towns and looks towards public transport.
On this occasion, EDES Group of the United States also signed a memorandum with Southern Institute of Science and Technology to cooperate and invest in five high-tech projects with a total value of $ 1 billion, including electrical style and thermal investment in Tien Giang; advanced tire manufacturing project exports 100% to the United States; antibiotic production projects in Ho Chi Minh city; generators’ waste treatment project in northern and project for treatment of waste into fertilizer in Phu Tho.
