Vietnam supports US interventions in Asia Pacific to promote ‘peace and prosperity’ – military

Word "US" and "PEACE" can never get along.... South China sea is reason to cause a war between Vietnam and China... US is such a phaphay kutni SoB..

Westerners, though they fight among themselves will cooperate to bully, kill and enslave others. Some asians tend to collude with foreighners to undermine and even kill their own, especially what the Japanese did in China. They prefer to be subordinates to Westerners. Very sad. You sound happy that a fellow Asian and economic partner country have economic problem and ignore worse happening elsewhere. If China goes down, whole world will be badly affected. I think Vietnam and China will do well. I am so surprised at how Philippines turn around their view towards China. Suddenly their websites have China supporting views where previously there were none or just trolling and most of the vitriol gone. I suspect their press previously have suppressed China supporting comments. Wondering if you are paid to do China bashing.
During Mongol invasion, many of Asian nations including China were enslaved by Mongol, but not Vietnam. Today, CN still be divided into 2 parts CN-TW,JP-SK under US occupation, but not VN.

We simply know how to survive in hardest time even when others like CN,JP,Korea can not survive. If CN collapse, then maybe other Asian nations collapse wt u, but not VN.

If u r strong enough to survive and make no harm to US, then US may make "Peace" wt u. Just like Mongol empire made peace wt VN after we defeated them 3 times

Kublai Khan ruled China as a Chinese. It says a lot about the value of Chinese culture. The Chinese are able to overcome their invaders with their cultural strength again with the Manchus. This is not the case with Vietnam, Korea and India.

We didn't ran and won the 1988 south Johnson reef skirmish with complete wipe out of VPN and no lost from Chinese. Even now we are still there which something US not able to achieve. :enjoy:

You did ran, in 1979 when you invaded Vietnam and lost and retreated and claim victory. Its a well known fact. :-)

Yeh, that's why they don't have Vietnam soldiers in Cambodia now. USA can't deal with Vietnam army, China can.
.

When did Vietnam pull troops out of Cambodia? Was it just right after China invaded Vietnam?

LOL Nice one Yank. You just keep tapping yourself on the shoulder whilst saying that. Stop mistaking China with Iraq. China has enough toys deal with you appropriately.

Sure, you keep believe that China has enough toys when they realized what the U.S. had that dealt with Iraq which it claimed the mother of all battles. Indeed you don't want to be like Uncle Bob.:-)

SOUTH CHINA SEA DISPUTE

Kerry to discuss South China Sea, regional trade with Vietnam

Published October 26, 2016 4:24am
WASHINGTON - Tension in the South China Sea and the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) were expected to dominate talks between U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry and Vietnamese Executive Secretary Dinh The Huynh in Washington on Tuesday.

The U.S. is eager to reach an agreement with Vietnam regarding TPP, U.S. President Barack Obama's signature trade deal before he leaves office.

The issues were taken up in a dialogue between U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry and Vietnamese Executive Secretary Dinh The Huynh in Washington, D.C.

Kerry called TPP "a critical relationship" at a joint press conference with Hyunh.

Obama's hopes to reach an agreement with Vietnam over TPP was dealt a blow in September when the Vietnamese government decided not to include ratifying TPP on its agenda for parliament.

Obama has expressed confidence of winning congressional approval for TPP before he leaves office, warning that failure to do so would undermine U.S. leadership in the region and allow China to set the rules of regional
With Vietnam's strengths in electronics, textiles, seafood and commodities, the TPP is seen as a game-changer for its export-dominated economy, and a means of boosting U.S. influence in China's backyard.

The leaders are also expected to discuss human rights issues and the territorial dispute over South China Sea.

Kerry on Tuesday said the U.S. was committed to "peaceful use and respect for rule of law in the South China Sea."

Huynh praised Kerry as a "close friend" to Vietnam and said he looked forward to a "candid talk."

The prospects for U.S. legislative approval of the TPP have looked increasingly dim, with both presidential candidates - Democrat Hillary Clinton and Republican Donald Trump - stating their opposition to the pact, in its present form at least
