Vietnam´s Foreign Affairs

Well, no doubt Vietnam is a small country, too small compared to your China, not only in terms of size and population, but also economic and military. It is not a fair game. We need other to hedge your influence and hegemony. No need to blame or laugh on us.

If you were Vietnam, I guess, you would do the same.
Small country with big ambition, small stomach with big mouth, that's kind of dangerous sign, isn't it?

TOKYO, Jan. 9 (Xinhua) -- Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe is expected to visit three Southeast Asian countries late next week on his first overseas trip instead of visiting the United States, local media reported Wednesday.

The visit to Indonesia, Thailand and Vietnam was considered as Abe's intention to enhance Japan's relations with Southeast Asian countries, the Kyodo News Agency said.

Abe's U.S. trip was postponed for Obama's busy schedule as the latter will prepare for his presidential inauguration ceremony set for Jan. 21. The two countries are working on the new time for Abe 's U.S. tour.

Meanwhile, Japanese Foreign Minister Fumio Kishida on Wednesday will leave for three Southeast Asian countries, - the Philippines, Singapore and Brunei, and Australia as his first overseas tour.

Kishida will hold talks with his counterparts during the six- day visit in order to enhance ties with the countries over maritime cooperation so as to maintain regional peace and stability, Kyodo said Tuesday.

"The second-time premier is expected to visit Indonesia, Thailand and Vietnam later this month, after "scheduling difficulties" put the brakes on a trip to the US, the major dailies Asahi and Yomiuri reported."

Tokyo (ANTARA News/AFP) - Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe is set to make Southeast Asia his first foreign destination, reports said Tuesday, despite an earlier pledge to go to Washington before anywhere else.

The second-time premier is expected to visit Indonesia, Thailand and Vietnam later this month, after "scheduling difficulties" put the brakes on a trip to the US, the major dailies Asahi and Yomiuri reported, without citing sources.

Abe said on Monday that although he wanted to visit the United States first to strengthen Tokyo`s alliance with Washington, "I`ve broadened the scope of my schedule, partly because of the circumstances (on the US side)."

His visit to Washington is now being arranged for some time in February, the reports said.

Chief Cabinet Secretary Yoshihide Suga declined to comment on the reports, insisting nothing had been decided.

"We want to think about our plans once Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs (Chikao) Kawai returns home and reports the outcome of his meetings in the United States," he told reporters.

The hawkish Abe has stressed the importance of closer ties with Washington at a time of heightened tensions with Beijing over a territorial row.

Abe went to China for his first foreign visit during his 2006-2007 tenure as prime minister, but said in the run-up to his landslide poll win that he would go to Washington ahead of any visit to a neighbouring country.

US President Barack Obama remains a popular figure in Japan.

The visit to Washington shortly after his 2008 inauguration by then-prime minister Taro Aso was seen as an indication of Tokyo`s importance to its ally.(*)

Wow! Look the different between Chinese media and Antaranews.com. Chinese media, as usual, speak very soft and weak. While the other one so bravely attacking China.

CCP sold China and the whole East Asia to US, what a traitor!

In Taiwan, we already held a massive protest on the street.

Attacking or clearly speaking the facts which are happening? Because i did not see any badmouthing and blaming words out off antara news towards China.

Anyway, what topic you are protesting? The raise of abe or his plan to visit several countries?

No need to worry about antara and reuters, they do their job correctly. The wrong side is on China.

Yup. As big country, PRC fail to united all East Asian people. But instead, it's the foreigner, US who did it.

As everyone know that China under CCP is not politically and culturally East Asian. They outlawed and genocide Confucianism. They did the same thing with the Buddhism. Because of that, although PRC is world biggest Buddhist country, no Buddhist countries in the world see PRC as brother. PRC is so wrong on everything and still refuse to fix the damage.

There's no communism in PRC anymore, but they still act like a communist. Stupid!
