Vietnam Metro Transportation

.
Erm.. Buses + metro?
the guy is a big TROLLER. He loves it, when Vietnam stands still, no progress is made. No subways, no HSR, no superhighways. No Fdi, no nothing. Samsung should invest elsewhere but not in Vietnam. We should sit on bikes forever. But his greatest dream is, if our army is stuck in the old age, no submarines, no destroyers, equipped by only Ak47.

I pity him because we will disappoint him.

that is very cheap if you pay only a fraction of euro for a trip. here you pay some 2-3 euro per ride.

the metros in Hanoi and Saigon still have to go several years before getting completed. no news about how much per ride. but I think that will be very cheap as the cities authorities want lure 60pct of people to public transport by 2030. now only some 9pct. there are plans bikes will be banned in inner cities, cars with high fee when they want to enter the cities. actually metro is something for rich countries, not for VN, that is just escaping war and devastation. poverty still remains in parts of the country. no wonder VN faces massive problems in building metro, from lack of money to lack of expertise. anyway things go slow forwards. some images Hanoi metro under construction.

I don't think the metro is something for rich countries, Bangladesh also has a subway, China even has the world's largest high-speed rail network. Because the subway or high-speed train is not a “one-time investment". It to strengthen regional economic ties, more help for the development of the country as a whole.

I think AIIB will solve this problem.
the aiib chairman was for talks in VN recently. Saigon alone seeks $50b for infrastructure for the city in the next few years. We will see if we get some yuan from the bank.

Hanoi subways under construction

What population is in Hanoi city? 8 lines construction if necessary at the same time is a very large project in first phase! The city might be digged like a beehive.

the city has about 8 million people. not all 8 lines are under construction. as soon as the money flows for a line, the construction starts.

Why not? Vietnam itself is a member of the AIIB, the subway is infrastructure investment, this is what you deserve.

.
Best wishes to the Metro in Vietnam, hope it will bring much convenient to the cities, hope it will run as soon as possible. I can not wait to go Hanoi or Saigon to ride on the metro and travel Vietnam. :yahoo:

We have 9-10 million people, 10+ subways being built at the same time.

Hanoi is the capital, we r not. They are supposed to have the money.

not so quick unfortunately, Hanoi and Saigon with 8 lines each will be complete by 2030, though many lines will go live before 2030. in the meantime, there are new bus services.

So the Bus have it's own road, do not have to share it with other cars? if that is the case, Bus almost as express as Metro. Not bad!

most Chinese including yourself laugh when we ask for $60b for HSR. because we are poor thus lack of capability to payback loans. if we have money, we will build of course all subways in one go.

yes buses have own lane. but it is useless when other cars violate the rule stepping in the bus lane. VN cities need urgently subways up and running.

Saigon alone seeks $50b for infrastructure for the city in the next few years.
Is $50b for HCM alone a serious plan? $50B is much bigger than the GDP of HCM, considering the entire Vietnam is a $200B economy.

do you think I made joke?

The total investment on the new Saigon airport is estimated to be $18.7b.

And there are hundreds of projects in the pipeline from subways, light rails, sea walls, water reservoirs, social housing for the poor, canal systems, public buses, healthcare, etc.

The new HCM airport has a three-phase planning. The last phase is planned to be completed till 2050, which makes more sense than you post claiming "$50b for infrastructure for the city in the next few years."
