The year of 2020 will be remembered as a milestone in Vietnam’s ICT history as three of the country’s largest mobile operators, Viettel, VNPT, and MobiFone gave consumers the first experience of 5G through commercial pilots in partnerships with mobile network equipment providers like Swedish Ericsson.

The 5G services have already been launched in several areas across Vietnam and the locals are already experiencing the higher speeds and superior performance that 5G offers. According to Vietnam Investment Review, much more is still to come.

My older brother was working in Erricson Indonesia quite long time, I dont ask about this one but he said Chinese equipment is cheaper than what is made by Erricson, but according to him critical Huawei equipment parts still rely on US companies.

Only FPGA is not so replaceable. China can source for other component for example RFFE, filtiers from Japan or local supplier. Huawei probably is going to go for all ASIC replacing FPGA. Will take 18 months.

Viettel is entirely Ericsson, other than the logo.

Anything Ericcson can do Huawei can do better. Sweden has no semiconductor fabs.

I've never heard of Ericcson fabless designed ASICs and Ericcson both spends less money on RD and has less patents than Huawei.

You talk as if Huawei is a source of inventions. Without Huawei the mankind would fall into the old age. What inventions do you bring to the world? Fact is almost all developers including Huawei buy chip designs from the British company Arm.

the specific implementation of ARM and the peripheral design is what matters. Otherwise a 32-bit microcontroller running at 200 MHz is also ARM, 2 GHz+ is also ARM.

I also said nothing about ARM, just Ericcson. No matter how bad Huawei is, Ericcson is worse.
