This is my favorite dish. There is a restaurant where I live that people would line up just to buy this to go or seat in to dine. It has become very popular among other ethnicity, Bánh mì thịt (Vietnamese sandwich) is popular as well.
Yes, Gỏi cuốn is our traditional specialist food.
In fact the word "Gỏi" or "ăn gỏi" came from long time in the past, It got a meaning for that people eat something " are not cooked" like fish, shirmps or beef. It was similar to Shushi in Japan.
Today, people cooked or boiled it before eating.
