What's ignorant about it? you mean the claim of over thousand years under Chinese rule is a lie?
It's already very humiliating to be ruled for over a thousand years, it's a record unmatched. I don't see the point why Viets like to bring in Mongolians and Manchus all the time.
A thousand year rule of China over Viet is inaccurate due to historical fact that Viet was liberated for several times.
Like i said 1006 years
Did it have consistent 1000 year rule? No.
You chinese lost your homeland to Mongols and were forced to live in Viet Nam like a vangrant, a bum, a homeless, stateless, no land to call your own living on Viet's bill.
You chinese should know that it is embarrassing and humiliating that less powerful Viet managed to liberated themselves several times and push you out for good in 15th century and describing that as thousand year rule is simply inaccurate because a rule must be consistent for thousand years, a rule of a dynasty, empire, kingdom or republic...
Longest rule over Viet was a little more than 500 years, but you didn't manage to do much in 500 years, Viet language and culture is present to this day and last attempt at conquering Viet resulted in utter defeat, any won battles were more of a bitter defeat in man power and equipment that was lost and Viet Nam armed forces are using them and it is a reminder of a david beating Goliath Junior.
Territory can always be retaken and liberated, only a petty person would care about how much territory is taken with world war one mindset.
Even if China pursued war further in 1979 and taken over northern Viet Nam, the bottleneck in the middle would halt any attempt of further conquering. Vietnam pushed away USA, China with less trained and weaker armed forces didn't stand a chance in the long term.
