He was in it to save his skin, post Kargil, he felt increasingly under threat. And rightly so for the debacle and deaths he caused. So he and his comrades removed an elected leader and imprisoned him, suspended both constitution and the assembly, jailed judges that did not side with him. Forced judges to swear oaths to his liking and not the constitutional oath they take in Pakistan and any civilised nation. Broke his own oath as a member of the armed forces, and committed high treason against both the constitution and the republic.
How he still has the stomach to defend his atrocious record is beyond my comprehension.
His idiocy led to the deaths of our regulars in Kargil, the diminishment of our diplomatic and international image. It also damaged the Kashmir cause massively. And he then went further like the shameless villain he is in order to save himself from possible court martial or other proceedings. Shame on him.
