Has it been confirmed they are HuT members? Only Indian media reporting this, any other confirmation?

Oh man this is a new low, you can't even exercise your right to opinion on foreign policy matters and the performance of the COAS. I have not seen the video, but if its for subservience to the United States, in action on drones, in action on getting our brave men and women of the military killed by Nato forces, failure in capturing OBL - these are all criminal performance failures and treason charges should be formally applied.

I hope some of you would testify of me being a highly secularized person and nothing to do with Islamic extremist hate speech groups like HuT when they come for me. It seems fashionable to accuse everyone of being HuT members when they criticize these leaders of the military.

20 activists of banned outfit held | Provinces | DAWN.COM

LAHORE, March 29: A joint team of counter terrorism department and an intelligence agency took into custody on Thursday over 20 men of a banned outfit from Model Town.

A source said the officials acted on the basis of intelligence information, raided a residence in C-Block and picked up activists of Hizbut Tehrir, including Muhammad Saad and Talal. The raiding team also recovered computers, CDs and prohibited literature from their possession.


The source claimed the banned organization had posted a video link on Internet having objectionable content. The police officials concerned expressed their ignorance about the raid and arrests.

Thanks for the link, I would understand if they were caught for instigating violence against the COAS, I haven't seen the video so I can't comment. But it sounds shady - the resources of the intelligence unit were spent to recover "prohibited literature" what the heck is prohibited literature?

Pan-Islamist literature that encourages members of the Armed Forces to stage a coup against the Military and Administrative Hierarchy and start a campaign of expansionism to bring other Islamic countries to the fold, get countries together, form a khilafat.

I know that HuT is an annoying organization that does instigate some very questionable things. Btw, I sure hope these 20 get a trial and not end up as missing persons. The link does not define "Prohibited material". Being in possession of it also does not really constitute a crime unless they were caught distributing it.
