Video: A glimp of Chinese version ChatGPT:ERNIE Bot. Not as good as ChatGPT but has potential

Then in your opinion, will China catch up and surpass the US in this area eventually?
Catch up? Surpress? first figure out by what metric you are comparing.

You can put lipstick on a pig, but... All I can say is that Baidu is foolish for trying to boost their stock valuation with this before the thing is ready.
Seems like they have a working product but live demos with these bots are extremely risky. The chance these bots answer with some nazi or anti-ccp garbage it found online is real.

Can you explain to me what encyclopedias or books would give it the insight to be able to answer a crazy conversation like this.

LOL, after getting it really irritated it has now turned to being condescending...

Look at the question. It’s about bigfoot. That’s the keyword. The program tries to work like a human brain. It indexes every words around @bigfoot. Is that the first time a question is raised about bigfoot? Probably not. Then understand the context, the meaning. Human brains have memory people remember. Computers have much easier. It has higher capacity it works faster. It can tap into the vast resources of prior answers and responses, then selects the best of it.

What metric is commonly used to measure the performance of an AI model like GPT?

Yes, exactly. That's the point! It is doing something far more than just being Wikipedia or an encyclopedia.

It gathered all the data and determined using reports of its size, strength (and inferred its possible intelligence) as to whether I'd be easily able to toss it into the trunk of my car. I'm quite sure nobody has ever written an account of attempting to do this which ChatGPT is using as a reference. It extrapolated all that on its own.

I could have easily said I'm trying to capture the Loch Ness Monster so I can put it on display in SeaWorld's killer whale tank back in California and see what it would say. You think anybody has written an account of that for it to base its answer?

Too many people bragging about their sexual prowess in the Baidu dataset LMAO.

well your questions could be categorized for a standard reply by AI...

From a technical point of view, a model is judged on accuracy and performance. But for these language bots based on the GPT framework, a major problem is how to curtail toxic text and bias towards marginalized groups.

I've changed my mind, Ernie Bot is way better than ChatGPT. 🤣🤣

Baidu used an open source database from Germany to train its AI painting. Which is based on English. Most other AI companies also use same database. No big deal. Further, I don't know why these people used AI painting function to deny all Ernie bot functions. ChatGPT doesn't even have AI painting function. For me AI painting is not important. What I care is all other functions that ChatGPT has.

tapping into thousands of lexicons is one thing however understanding the context is the most important. Otherwise the program doesn’t know what’s the best answer out of thousands possible answers. Yes the trend is there. A matter of time then a robot will be your best friend.
The other thing I still missing from this chatbot. It doesn’t know latest news, or news of the day. It runs days behind actual developments.

This is how OpenAI is going to make a ton of money. Custom plugin-ins for specific businesses. Accounting plug-ins, finance plug-ins, medical plug-ins, etc.
