Video: A glimp of Chinese version ChatGPT:ERNIE Bot. Not as good as ChatGPT but has potential

. .
The thing is a piece of crap right now but the sad thing is other than ChatGPT and maybe Google other folks don't even have a piece of crap.
Disagree. From what the video presented, ERNIE Bot is not bad at all. Just it is dwarfed by Chatgpt. But I can see it has potential. Once again, China is the only country that challenges US domination in another new field. EU and Janpan are all standing there doing nothing.

Too much hypes on chatbot. I did some tests on chatGPT to find out how it works. It basically is a software. In short it’s not a moon landing. Not at least with the current version.

One, it is fed by tons of encyclopedias, books, articles, open sources. Two, it has a similar algorithm like google. It scans the internet, indexing the words, putting them in contexts. Next step it then sorts the texts into order of relevance. And last, most importantly, the chatbot lives on user comments, corrections. The more people use the chat and make comments the more the chat growing. It’s much a baby. The more thd baby is fed, the more the baby growing. Bad: the software doesn’t speak, it can’t read, it can’t recognize image. Very limited.

The software is no longer free it costs money when use it. So there are some smart capitalists they now have a tool more to make money.

The most important factor of how good AI is other than algorithm is

-- training -> total number of dataset

The GPT algo is revealed. Now China knows this is good. Next is it will take a few months of training.

Very limited.

Ok I did test the basic version. that here ’ a better version that seems can more than the version of google speaker and reader. Probably not free. In Vietnam a subscription costs $40 per month.

With training GPT will still be getting better, Now is only the start.

We are at an inflexion point of yet another industrial revolution.

This one is pretty impressive especially with how it interprets the images

Ok I see now it costs less in Vietnam, $20 per month. I think still too high. Should be $10 or so.

Wut. This is a revolutionary technology with potential to disrupt millions of jobs worldwide in coming years. The savings from productivity enhancement for a worker is much more than $20 per month.

Indeed. What's more impressive to me is how it is able to code and create a website based on interpreting a hand drawing.

Or code a simple new game within seconds.

Not Wut.

About from a hand writing to a http web site, you have imagine recognition software, image processing software mathlab, then coding it using Java library, code library. Then from there convert to still images or video: image compression jpeg, video compression mpeg.
Ok that’s great though, but I would not say revolutionary, more an evolution. It’s the combination of everything. Chips run faster more powerful. Sure that makes life easier.
