Verdict in Jayalalita DA case

.
If Modi purges yeddy without worrying about lingayat or other castes vote, he will truly prove himself to public, catching opponent is not big deal, dmk and admk have been playing this for like ever

'Silver ' lining for Jayalalitha amongst all the dark clouds !

Jayalalitha sets a record !
She gets a distinction of being first ' sitting ' CM to get convicted and being sent to the jail.

You think this is this easy>?
She will be given an option to appeal. That might take several years in HC. Then repeat the same shit for SC...By that time she will die a natural death and her wealth distributed among her kith and kins.
Its India man! Stupid laws and quantum of punishment.
Even I am lured to go to India and loot billions and go to jail for few years and keep the stash.

There is a huge difference between 'bail' and 'fine'

If they can raise the bar on Bail for billions, why not the quantum on fines for millions?

What the verdict means for Jayalalithaa, party - The Times of India

Who is next..? Mamta ..? Maya..? Mulayam..? Pawar..?

Both Mamta and Mulayam tried their best to get cases against them quashed. Modi still has 5 years to deliver justice.

What is the pending/ongoing case against Sharad Pawar?

Sad part of the story is, It took 19 yrs final verdict to come-out. She is not old Jaya any more, now she is a good changed leader who is doing her job very effectively.

On other note, TN and AP politics are very peculiar. We are the only chooses movie stars as CM

Have you ever heard 1.5 billion USD bail ever in India?
Subarata Roy, the swindler..

She would part away with 100 crores, and keep 900 crores plus. What is the problem?
The disproportionate assets case only states that she made 66 crore through dubious means. Anyway, she will spend 4 years in prison and 10 years away from politics. At least we are seeing some comeuppance for corruption, unlike yesteryears.

Sure .

I was just pointing difference between bail and fine .

bail money can be recovered back ...fine can't !

.
100 crore fine?:eek::eek::eek:

Has any individual faced such a large fine before? I wonder how they arrive at the figure.

That's about $16.6 million.:suicide:

The judge probably figured she made a heck a lot of money, the fine couldn't have been much less.......

She will be in jail until she gets bail, if she does. Anyway she is out of politics for a decade - and that means a lot, because she is the soul of her party. Make no mistake, it is a massive blow to them.

I would like to see stricter punishments, and it is my guess that we will see that in future; as of now, I'm happy that at least this much is being meted out. Until 2010, anybody could loot the govt with impunity - now even a powerful chief minister, close to the PM is finding her arse in prison. It's a big step for our politics and society, let us at least acknowledge and appreciate that.

Is she in jail right now, at this very minute?

If so... wooooot!

Even a toddler would know the difference between the head and the tail.

Sorry!
Refine your above statement, because the bails have been forfeited in the past when some-one turned fugitive.

That's a hilarious signature bro.
It's a reminder to jealous neighbours, not to bbelittle the efforts of a society that is much more sophisticated than theirs - or they will end up eating humble pie.

I'm not sure, but I think that she may also have set a record for the quantum of fine for an individual.

That's why I used word " can be "

I see no need to refine my statement .

Off course bails will be forfeited if bail stipulations are breached ...that what it's meant for . right ?

I hope that even a toddler would know that much ...

That money looted 20 plus years ago has ballooned multifold...Its worth 1000s of crores now as it got invested in real estate.
