Verdict in Jayalalita DA case

She is the chief minister of Tamil Nadu. (Or was, as she has to resign now.) The only thing wrong with our judiciary is the delay - this case took 18 years to reach a verdict. Justice was meted out in the end.

Why would she have to dissolve the council of ministers? Only she has to resignm right? The rest of the ministers have not been convicted.

Almost a novelty for Indian political class. Then again these guys are still able to wield their power despite being guilty as charged. Look at Laloo... He is a convicted criminal out on bail. Still he is able to do his business as usual..& enjoys security cover by the state. Can it get any worse?

At least there is something to cheer about that these corrupt people are meeting their fate. I agree with you that it took long to serve the Justice but you can hope to correct it. There are few countries where people does not expect justice coming out of court.

We owe a lot to Mr. Swamy. In emergeny like situation in UPA 2, He,Swamy Ramdev Anna and arvind like people fought very bravely. Swamy got 2g exposed and got canceled. Swamy saved Ramsetu. We as the Indian owe a lot to swamy.

There is another difference. Jayalalita personally became richer by 66 crore (1990s) rupees. In the 2g scam, the loss to the govt was valued at lakhs of crores, but that doesn't mean that anybody actually became richer by that amount. It just means that if they had followed a better procedure, the got could have made that much money from private bidders.

Note that I'm not supporting either party, both deserve condemnation.
