While I am no supporter or proponent of valentines as it is a rehash by greeting card companies back in the 60-70s to boost their sales; it seems the IHC and generally the useless majority of Pakistani public has nothing better to find an prohibit according to "Islam"

They cannot implement any actual shariat in their own personal and private lives so they spend it like squaking crows trying to make up for their own guilt by such public drama.

LOL in our culture it is every day Father's and Mother's Day or at least it ought to be. I do agree that the ban is kind of unnecessary. Especially given that it most probably is meant as a PR stunt. We are indeed hypocrites as far as our overall behavior is concerned. We like to apply double standards in many instances. Unless we don't have leaders that set an example you might as well forget the masses.

Believe it or not. Basant is good riddance as well. Another crappy day which costs people their lives. Also, Basant is a Hindu tradition and festival. We have imported this crap like so many other things from across the border. I say good riddance.
