I doubt pakistan will be able to carry out such violation of border without drawing international condemnation, besides its asking for trouble, most agencies can create trouble by creating militancy inside pakistan.
Its in pakistan's interest to make border permanent, you got much more to lose than afgans from any instability.

Whilst on paper this is a good idea. (Also should have made the national language Dari). Given what has happened, this would cause more problems than solve. The breakup of Afghanistan would lead to greater resentment towards Pakistan by the non Pahstoons and Bharat would find greater support with the smaller Afghanistan in launching terrorist attacks against the larger Pakistan. Not only this may Afghan Pashtoons would resent this and this wold lead to further problems. Bharat cannot accept Pakistan and neither can Afghanistan. Since 1947.

The only incentive i can foresee is Pakistan granting them autonomy for the region. And this will start an unrest in Baluchistan for step-Motherly treatment. and the floodgates for drugs and weapons from Afghanistan will grow even further.

As the issues with Afghanistan and india are never ending----Pakistan must look at things thru a different lens.

My suggestion would be to use the 3 1/2 million afghan refugees to Pakistan's advantage. We know very well that these refugees don't want to go back to Afghanistan and want to stay in Pakistan.

So---if Pakistan can give them an incentive----that they go back to Afghanistan---move into the neighboring states across the border and start a movement to join Pakistan and break away those states from Afghanistan.

So---the problem with Afghanistan can be resolved that way---the Pashtun states join Pakistan---and the remaining non Pashtun states keep their Afghanistan---.

So---by default---the afghan refugees can now claim to be living in Pakistan and Pakistan would be happy to accommodate them as its own citizen.

I agree. It has to happen one day. Our influence in Afghanistan is heavy not just in the Pashtun parts. They use Pakistani currency, watch Pakistani Pashtun videos and follow and are led by the center of Pashtun arts and culture which is khyber Pakhtunkhwa. I fully support a merger as it will be the end of the durand line as well though it will push the Pakistani gdp per capita very low. It will also eliminate the problem of Taliban cross border attacks.

Afghanistan will split up, The Pashtuns will either join Pakistan, or will have thier own state, the Hazaras will have their state, the Tajiks will go to Tajikistan, and Uzbeks to Uzbekistan. Even once this happens, there still won't be peace, instead perhaps more wars. Pakistan can't expand like that, unless another Zia-ul-Haq or Saddam Hussein comes to power in Pakistan. No other way for peace there, besides nuking the place till it turns into the "Afghan sea", we might even have to include Balochistan and NWFP to really have peace though. Plus, I'm sure Pakistan has some problems that she needs to fix, before appointing a pothead like Nawaz the PM of fairly prosperous post-soviet states who hate our guts.

oh, Post scriptum:
The last thing any sane person would want is to arm 3 million uneducated fools who've probably seen their family members die in front of them thanks to the AfghanTaliban, but are yet pro-Pakistani Taliban with weapons, unless you have 12 million troops ready or want them to take over Pakistan and start nuking places at random.

Economic wellbeing and security provided by the state is the biggest incentive for people to lay their arms---be it afghans---Baloch or anyone else disgruntled with the state----.

Only paid insurgents & radical element don't want any peace---otherwise everyone does---.

The majority of afghans in pakistan are peace lovers----. People want a job----education---health services- a roof over their head---better life for their children---no one wants to keep up with the arms all the time.

There is not going to be any peace----so we need to adjust ourselves to get the maximum gains out of the situation.

My question was , today if American ask you to move back to Pakistan with your family and participate in dangerous and probably lethal movement to make Pakistan a part/colony of America. Would you?

If not, why do you think Afghan migrants would do it?
