USAF chief successfully completes flying sortie in LCA Tejas

Sadly he is seeing a wonderful airframe but an utterly failed project.

Only the Pakistanis think that considering there is extremely limited scale and scope for aircraft R&D in Pakistan and hence the lack of experience in such subjects, hence the trash talk.

Only Mk1 "failed", which is pretty normal for many other aircraft. That's why in time, everybody talks about the F-15C, Gripen C, JF-17 Block 2, J-10B/C, and not F-15A, Gripen A, JF-17 Block 1, J-10A etc.

The difference is we wait for a platform to mature before we induct it, that's just being smart.

You have no idea about me.

The best part is yet to come and it will make up for all the delays the program has seen. And this is coming from one of the biggest critics of the LCA Mk1.

Understand that your country has inducted JF 17 before it achieved many operational capabilities and allowed the platform to gain them while its in service, whereas in India's case airforce waited until the capabilities were gained. The "inducted "time of JF 17 isnt much of an advantage when u compare it with Tejas.
different philosophy behind both jet projects, your IAF wants a complete product, whereas our JF-17 project to replace Mirages and F-7/PG as early as possible with gradual to Block 1,2,3,4

The Irony being , that instead of adding something constructive, even Old Guys like you are still busy with their "teen age" habits of worthless Trolling.

Rationally , I feel any one having a real sense of "self respect" will critisize what they never did in the first place. In India, we really adore and respect China for their Huge Achievements. India is trying really hard to achieve the same path of economic and technological milestones which China has. Its very difficult. Needs Huge Investment and Focus, but we are doing it.

The Soaring Economy of India is a Perfect Proof. We are still far behind China, but Im really proud that our Govt. if not busy in blaming another nation for its own failures, but promoting new projects and scientific research steadily.

Just look how Saudis are spending huge huge money to start a "Silicon Valley", Its an Ecosystem to not only develop new jobs, and technology , but an effort to start something entirely new.

With LCA, India Developed Its own MMR, AESA, FBW, Composites, BVRs and an entire ecosystem of Aerospace which was non existent. These technologies will never be shared by ANY nation with ANY ToT !

This is VERY VERY Different than just making a Full Aircraft at home ( Su MKI ) Including its Engines ! with ToT . Something which Pakistan doesn't do even with the JF17s

The more i look at LCA, the more it resembles a trainer aircraft.

Anyway no matter how heavily upgraded it is, its got a trainer aircraft design and its capabilities are maxed

Thats it, Jf-17 covers the need of the hour of PAF, which is to be a backbone for the airforce, whereas in India's case there is still time, and the emphasis can be given on the domestic capability building.

How is your crystal ball working bro? Seriously, how can you be so sure? India has had a history of parallely operating 5-7 different types of platforms in combat role and no matter whatever news you hear, Tejas will still fit in.

yes sir you're on the spot:tup: but we are also trying to establish aeronautical/aviation industries with JF-17, we are manufacturing 58% fuselage parts at home like Nosecone, wings horizontal and vertical tails and some of its avionics, rest is China's responsibilties

ppl often go by when the project was started they deliberately miss the fact that strong focus was given only during the last 5-10 years. The project had come to a standstill post nuclear tests and budgetary constraints ended up pushing the project onto the back burner.

If we look at fighters like f-16 its not that they were created overnight, it has taken them virtually 2-3 decades to get a fully finished battle worthy product. Knowledge & expertise accumulated during LCA project will be very helpful in forthcoming projects. But India must show persistence instead of hankering over foreign jets.

emphasis can be given on the domestic capability building.
exactly, it is the same case with ISRO as well. Build a strong local industry which help in sourcing the components. Remember even russia refused cryogenic technology under pressure but now we have now started mastering it. If we master the the jet engine part then we are nearly there. It is just a matter of time & perseverance.
