'ka' is a question marker , and it indicates a question being asked. so yes, very similar to how in Tagalog the word 'ka' is also a question marker.


For example, if you want to know how much something costs in Japanese you will say:

Are wa iku ra desu ka? (how much does this cost)

Kare wa isogasshi desu ka ? (is that guy busy?)

Nani wo yomimasu ka? (what are you reading?)

Pilipinjin desu ka? (are you Filipino?)

Yes, they are very proficient in the English language. You will have no problems if you visit there, even if you don't understand the Tagalog , if you speak in English, they will entertain your questions.

Cebu was the original capital of the Las Islas Filipinas, and is generally known in the Philippines as "The Queen City of the South". Cebu City is heavily hispanized, a lot of Spanish colonists from Nueva Espana came to Cebu during the 16th, and 17th centuries --- so its very common to see mestizas in Cebu, more so than in the rest of the Philippines.

Another city that is very mixed is in Negros Island, the city of Bacolod is very unique. There was a massive German and Spanish migration to the city during the early 19th century. So its very common to see people there with strong Caucasian features.

Not American. The Philippines is Hispanic, culturally, actually. They were part of the Hispanic Empire for close to half a millenia, so a lot of words, traditions, religious customs, is similar to Spain's. The Philippines can be argued as culturally Hispanic/ Latin, but geographically Austronesian.

In Cebu City, there is a strong Spanish features of people there. Specially around Cebu City, Mandaue City. You have a beautiful mixture of the Malay and Spanish.

When I went to the Social Security office to apply for the SS number, I wrote caucasian in the question about race since that's what I'm, but they told me, no you have to check the hispanic box. Why is that? Hispanic is not a race. What about if I'm Portuguese? Oh in that case it would be caucasian. It makes no sense to me.

Hispanics can actually be of any race, its more like a cultural term for people from latin american countries, I can understand that, but its not a race.

Either Delta or United/ANA as they are the cheapest but if I want better service, probably Singaporean Air with there A380 aircraft. JAL is always too expensive (forget PAL lol), I don't know why :/

Next year around August I might stay for a week but I don't know what's going on around that month in Japan. Probably nothing but it has to be August.

Hispanic is not the same as Spanish lol, the only thing common between Hispanic and Spanish culture is they both speak Spanish, albeit not quite the same Spanish too.

Hispanic is not White too, they were mixed between Anglo-Saxon (White) and Amerindian. The Term Hispanic is usually related to South American which is not of white race (Which amount to 70% of those) but not Amerindian. It is somewhere in the middle. And it does not matter if you are from Portugal (ie from Brazil) or Spain (ie rest of South America) if you are not white, and you speak Spanish or Portuguese, then you are Hispanic.

It does count as a race, like Eurasian to those who are mixed between European and Asian...

Well in way we are hispanic because we colonized by mexicans for spain and we under mexico's control they won their freedom from spain in 1821 so in way we have some elements and ironicly they have some elements of filipino culture see the manila manila acapulco galleon trade but for most we are influence culture not just by spain but many cultures because of our location and histoy.
