The figure seems to be incorrect since that would make almost half of America as unemployed. No president of that country, no matter how much of an Indophile he coming would want mass rioting and attacks all over the country. I do not know what the author really means by high-paying, highly skilled jobs. It is not only grammatically and politically incorrect, it also sounds nonsensical in every way. The author should first find out whether there are 123 million high-paying jobs requiring highly-skilled professionals in the whole world?

If the US will require 123 million highly skilled personnel in the next 20 years, then think where it's economy must be going - to the moon.

And I am quite surprised with the kind of attention this news has attracted where the same guys commenting here were the first ones to thrash many 2050 predictions put forth by big financial institutions. Come'on guys if those predictions can't be right then this can be wrong too. I have a feeling that such news are planted in media as it may force Americans to focus more on education. It will be nice that the American youth is properly guided and taught the value of education. If this helps in reducing school drop-out numbers then certainly more people should come out and talk about it.

If you read the article carefully, its not good news, its actually supporting Obama saying of cutting outsourcing, this article serve as some kind of alert or warning to the US public the danger of losing 75 million jobs to China and India in the next 20 yrs.

You got it all wrong. Ms Rhee is one of the premier educational experts who used to be head of schools in the DC area. She is an advocate for correcting the US education system and when she makes these claims - she is saying the US kids need better education to produce the professional forcevs. where it is today losing out to India and china i.e.engineers, scientist, doctors etc...

Sigh! you need to read up on her more regardless of your stance on public schools. she was head of DC shools and those were public schools. she is about vouchers and keeping teachers accountable and not private schools.
