US to use further cuts to get Dr Afridi out

he still has not been executed and that there is the problem.

.
Well thats crap, because he ran a fake hepatitis vaccination program and not polio, to collect DNA samples from Osama's Children.

He was sent to 33 years prison not for for his links with CIA, not for fake hepatitis vaccination program, because supposedly he had links with Laskar-e-Islam.. Kangaroo courts at work.

Yes the case against him is a bit shrewd, but since the legal system here has loop holes the prosecution probably decided that would be the best way to put him in jail. But he is genuinely a traitor and has permanently hurt polio eradication attempts in the country. Polio vaccination workers lives are under constant threat and need police and ranger escorts. Just last week 7 Police officers on Polio guard duty were gunned down in Karachi with the total death toll for people killed during polio work to 80+ and not to mention the large number of children in danger since can't get the vaccination.

The guy will not be released no matter what, he will be made an example.

This guy has severely dented the polio vaccination campaign, As usual US is trying blackmailing tactics to force his release through funds, If GOP has any self respect they should never release him come what may.

.
Pakistan should burn this guy Alive and send a nice video clip to CIA!:smokin:

Better a kangaroo court with a correct decision.

By the way, what is the punishment for treason in your country? What would be the punishment of a US citizen spying or running a covert operation/campaign on behalf of ISI?

Okay. This is touchy subject. However as ever it exposes the muddled Pakistani thinking. It all boils down to how Pakistan considers OBL

(i) A friend
(ii) A foe
(iii) Neither.

If he was "neither" then we should have told the American's right from start that we would do nothing to help them get OBL and that neither would we do anything to help him. Or that he was foe. In which case we do everything to hunt him down and then either hand him to American's or eliminate him ourselves.

Or that OBL was friend. In which case we should have told the American's we were not going to help them get OBL. In fact that we would help OBL in every way and protect him from American's. The Taliban with respect to them were very clear where they stood. They stood like men and said "f*ck off" to the American's and then fought to death protecting him.

What did Pakistan do? It branded OBL as foe and purportedly was helping America to catch him. In short America and Pakistan were supposed to be in the same team. Dr Afridi helped a Pakistani ally (American's) catch a man who was wanted by Pakistani security apparatus. So I can't see the big deal here. Yes ISI must feel pissed off that right under their noses in their own country their incompetance was exposed. Well the solution to that is investigate and fix the incompetance of ISI. Not get angry and externalize that anger on Dr Afridi who might have done wrong thing but he does not deserve this.

I feel that the Pakistan security apparatus was made to look like a b*tch and all this reaction is just childish tantrums. Dr Afridi is the punching bag for this. Of course CIA are the ones who made ISI like dip sticks but they are big boys and nothing can be done about them so Dr Afridi is the soft punching bag and the scapegoat.

The stupidity in all of this is uniquely Pakistani. Either Pakistan genuinely did not know about OBL. Which is what Pak claimed. If this indeed was so Pak should have accepted internal failures on part of the security establishment. Investigated. Published a report and apologized. Instead of arresting Dr Afridi people in charge of internal security should have been arrested for making Pakistan look like international comic with the OBL fiasco.

By arresting Dr Afridi the message being given out is Pakistan was hiding OBL. It got exposed. Dr Afridi helped a foreign power in that exposure. Therefore Dr Afridi is guilty because he acted at variance with Pakistan interests. In short if hiding and keeping OBL was Pak policy then Dr Afridi is guilty.

All I see is some high ups in Pak security establishment failed big time and instead of facing negligence charge arrested Dr Afridi because they were sore at him for exposing them. These people to protect their own selfish interests have and are hurting Pakistan. Pakistan Air Force is now going to feel the consequences of their incompetance. Well done guys.

Russian/Chinese agency does an operation against any gangster/terrorist inside US
Wrong comparison my friend. Russia and China are rivals of US. Russia or China did not have military bases in USA. Russia and China did not supply US military logistics. Russian and China do not get aid from USA. Russia and China do not buy half of their military weapons from USA. Russia and China were not in a official alliance with US against specfic country. So stop comparing chalk with cheese.

Right now US leverage on Pakistan is at lowest and they can cut more funds and see how much leverage they get.

A handful of desperate and disgraced pro-Indian senators resorting to blackmail tactics. Pakistan should hold its ground and punish Afridi according to the law. These Americans are angry about a whole host of things regarding Pakistan, but China gaining ground in Pakistan tops the list. Afridi a brown Pakistani man is their least concern. The constant venom they spew against Pakistan speaks volume.

Pakistan should release Afridi the day America allows Snowden to live freely in his home country. If Afridi is their hero, Snowden is ours.

What a silly thing to say. It hurts us more than them. That is the bottom line. You see this entire OBL affair highlights how great power conducts statecraft and a clap trap third world country goes about fumbling in the dark. US did not become superpower by excelling in stupidity. However we are third world precisely because of our retarded ways.

If you ever have worked in management one thing you are taught is not to make blunders that will expose your backside to the world. And if you do get caught in a blooper then you go for damage control. In this instance Pak should have investigated. Held somebody accountable within the security apparatus. Heads should have rolled. Report made public. Apology tendered. Then draw a line under the entire sordid affair and move on.

The benefit of this policy would be today OBL affair would be buried today. The holding of accountability would have sent a signal to all those who work in positions of power to focus on their jobs and not make such mistakes again. Result cultivating competance.

Instead what does Pak do? Opposite of that. Shield those who failed inside Pak security apparatus thus allowing the culture of incompetance to take root even further by giving message out that you can mess up in front of the entire world. Make Pakistan look like huge limp banana but hey no worries your positions are safe. You still get your pensions.

Worse than get some sucker - Dr Afridi and lock him him. Therefore creating a living symbol of Pakistan's gross failure. Even today six years later OBL affair still creates waves in America. Dr Afridi's incarceration gives plenty of meat for anti Pakistan propaganda. Bottom line? F*uck up big time. Then do everything to keep that f*uck up alive for next few decades. Bravo.

Now let's look at how US approached the problem. Got the intel. Went in on the quite. Why tell Pak? Why risk the leakage by telling Pak even if the risk is 0.0001%? Then when Dr Afridi is arrested do everything to free him. Why? He is not even a US citizen? Simple. It certainly is not because US loves Dr Afridi. It is to send clear message out to the world that if you help USA than America will stand by you. Therefore next time somewhere in the world USA needs to do something there is that much more chance of hetting help because informant would know US will stand by them if things go pear shaped. That is the stuff that makes a superpower.

Finally if Dr Afridi did such a terrible thing may I ask you guy's what should happen to foreign citizen who comes to Pakistan and in broad daylights shoots to death like a dog a Pakistani citizen? Yeh I know. You hug the guy. You give him some food. You then send him first class back to USA**

Pakistan is a third world country for a reason. Think about that. And it certainly is not because of USA or others.

Afridi was a pawn in this entire thing, but he did wrong nevertheless. He deserves punishment according to the law of the land. We don't care about what the Americans or Timbuktu thinks for that matter.

Whether Pakistan should have dealt with things differently is an entirely different debate. When you choose corrupt Panama leak type of leaders you'll get what you deserve.

To hell with USA. They are the big fat playground bully. They never were our friends, never will be. Akk they can do is interfere in Pakistan's internal matters.

Lets ask them to stop their police from killing their blacks,as Pakistan is concerned on human rights grounds. Then see how it goes down.

.
killing their blacks
I would rather be "hood Negro" in USA than Ahmedi in Lahore or Hazara in Quetta or Afghan in Peshawar, Pakistan any day. At least I might get to have some fun before I get shot by some fat American cop.

And check how many of them "Blacks" are lined up at the Pakistani Embassy in Washington trying to sneak into Pakistan. Then count how many Pakistani's have sneaked into USA. I trust you can count.

those who dont respect themselves will not get respect from other, you with get money or respect not both
India is the same third world country but I admire Indian govt to stand up for their people

.
admire Indian govt
Well move there than if you admire them so much.

dont respect themselves
Nothing to do with respect. Running a country is statecraft. Not some "dudes" in some village. Dose of Machiavelli and ledger account of interests period.

If you look at India and Iran relationship you can see India bending and flexing. It dumped Iran like dirty rag despite all the big talk of India/Iran friendship when American's put pressure on India.
